Summer is almost over.[emoticon]

I hope most B's have been wandering and looking for a campground for B4! [emoticon]

Reservations need to be made! [emoticon] This planning ahead makes life interesting.

#1 when

#2 where

Think about your area.... or an area you would like to visit.

Does the CG have a meeting room? What's the weather like?

Where do you want to go for B4?

One great park for a Rally is Rally Park (formerly Lazy Days RV Resort) in Tampa, FL. It has an RV oriented shopping center and very large banquet hall.

Highly recommended, just not very centrally located in the US

#1 Our vote would be for some date AFTER school is out and BEFORE school reopens. We missed B?3 because we could not get away so close to the end of school due to standardized testing.

#2 The "where" would be somewhere east of the Mississippi river. Florida doesn't sound bad.

We are headed out tomorrow toward Lake Champlaign NY, Niagara Falls and Erie PA; we will search for campsites along the way.

We also vote to kidnap Lynne so that she will be there.

Roger, should we set up a poll?

Although we have never been to a B Rally, I would love to.
One way I can do that is to nominate a campground somewhat near us.
I would think the middle of July, say July 13 -15 or 20 - 22, 2007, (school is not in session then and it is after the July 4th rush) would work.

Normandy Farms Campground in Foxboro, MA, (Home of the New England Patriots) has received 10/10 campground ratings. It was named National RV Park of 2005-06. My DW and I go there several times a year. It is large campground. There are plenty of camp sites and most are pull-throughs.
Normandy Farms Campground

The campground is about 3 miles down rte. 1 from Gillette stadium (home of the Patriots) in a nice shady/trees filled area.

The advantages having it here would be:
1. It is here cooler here in the northeast
2. 30 miles from historic Boston (and the famous "Big Dig" that will be "safe" by then)
3. About an hour drive from Cape Cod
4. Campground has a large banquet hall and large facilities
5. They have the cleanest bathrooms on the world! My wife loves this place!
6. 20,000 square foot Lodge is centrally located, complete with an Arcade, Fitness Center, Indoor Pool, 3-way Sauna, double Jacuzzi, and Adult & Activities Lofts. Most major events and entertainment are held at this fully air-conditioned facility.
7. 4 swimming pools, (3 outside and 1 inside). Great facilities.
8. The staff there (family run) is incredible.
9. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos are 1-1/2 hour drive away.
10. It is only about a 4 hour drive for Lynne. I bet she would come. [emoticon]

If someone makes a call there, I am sure they can be a great help and let you know if this is possbie.

Anyway, this is my input.
Take care.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but Florida in mid-summer is close to this northerner's idea of h*ll. (You can tell me that MN in winter is your idea of torture, and I won't be offended! [emoticon] ) The B3 rally in Branson in late May was so hot and humid that everyone spent the afternoons inside their rigs with the AC going. It was like a ghost town!

Now, if anyone wants to have a B3.5 Rally in the winter in FL, count me in!

My two cents worth, realizing that choice of both date and place is not going to please everyone.
  • Choose a "centrally" located spot that is not a destination in itself necessarily but has good facilities for a rally. I think a "B" rally is more for meeting and visiting with fellow B van owners, not a weekend for sightseeing. There are plenty of opportunities for that traveling to and from a rally that suit the individual preferences of those attending. The "centrally" part is harder. I doubt that the location would affect attendance much as long as it is central north/south on either coast or anywhere else in the country. Obviously the attendees at B1/B2/B3 are weighted to the east coast so that would affect any poll.
  • Pick a date not during school vacation. I respect J.Wook's desire, but I think you will lose more participants during the school vacation months then you would gain due to other family plan interference during these months. Plus, the weather is cooler outside the summer months.
  • Pick the date and location soon so potential participants can plan ahead.

Thanks to all those that have made the first 3 B rallys a success.

I agree with "MARTY" about a B3.5 rally in FL. [emoticon] Radio Man 7.262

I vote for the Smoky mountains, maybe near Asheville,NC. It's cooler than Branson. But, I'll go just about anywhere to see my b friends. Anywhere that is except Florida in mid summer, having been there in summer, I can say Marty is right--it is h'll.

I assume this is open to anyone owning a B or planning on owning one by next year. Hope to get ours next spring. Would be interested in joining in if possible....
