I've enjoyed looking at pictures posted by many other members and thought I would share some pictures from our September 2006 trip.
We took a 2 week trip through Alberta in Sept. (with brief stops in Sask. and Montana) with our truck and camper. Our main goal was to visit parks throughout southern Alberta.
It was a great trip. We visited many places that we had not been to before.

Itinerary
09-Sep-06 Edmonton - Rainbow Valley Campground
10-Sep-06 Balzac - Symon's Valley Ranch
11-Sep-06 Bassano - Crawling Valley Reservoir
12/13-Sep-06 Brooks - Dinosaur Provincial Park - Interpretive Centre/Inside loop and trails
14-Sep-06 Maple Creek,SK - Cypress Hills - Cowboy Poet's Weekend
15-Sep-06 Elkwater - Cypress Hills
16/17-Sep-06 Milk River - Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park - Hoodoo Trail/ Guided Pictograph/Petroglyph tour
18-Sep-06 Cardston - Lee Creek Campground - Remington Carriage Museum
19-Sep-06 Waterton Lakes - Waterton Lakes National Park - Red Rock Canyon/Cameron Lake/boat tour
20-Sep-06 Pincher Creek - Beauvais Lake Provincial Park
21-Sep-06 High River
22-Sep-06 Bow Valley - Bow Valley Provincial Park
23-Sep-06 Jasper - Jasper National Park - Whistlers Campground

OK, I have my pen and paper out for making a "to visit" list of great places in Alberta. WOW---thanks for sharing.

We have been to Banff and Jasper, but obviously need to see a lot more of Alberta. I think Writing-on-Stone is on the top of my list---looks like a fasinating place.

Oh, love the dirty camper on the road---I believe that a muddy, dirty camper is a happy camper because it is out traveling around.

Happy Travels,
Diane

Neat photos. Just saw a show on Science Channel about the T-Rex and other dinosaur finds in that area of Alberta. Fascinating.

Agree with jdtrotter. Writing-On-Stone looks like a very neat place to go.

Thanks - especially for the itinerary. Copied it off into my "gotta go" places folder. Super photos.

BE - I've got to agree: Nice photos. Thanks for sharing. I especially like the view of the Sweetgrass Hills from the Writing-on-Stone PP. I've been to GlacierNP (MT) many times but have yet to go to the Waterton side. It's high on my list also.

I think we had that same campsite, or one very close to it in Dinosaur P.P. I was fine there until a neighbour spotted a snake (hog-nosed ?) wrapped around the tree. We left shortly after that - I don't do well around snakes! It sure was an interesting area though.

Nice pics. I especially liked the one of the back of the dirty camper. Kinda extends my philosophy of "a dirty pickup is a happy pick up". Looked like a neat trip, As others have said, thanks for sharing.
