Most important...
An inverter generator is the ONLY kind of portable generator that you can use in a campground that won't REALLY piss off your camping neighbors.
The money you would save on a cheapo contractors model would be more than used up by the hospital bill resulting from trying to use it in a crowded campground. ![awink [emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/awink.gif)

Mike, your previous post on the same subject prompted almost 900 replies. That wasn't enough to steer you in the right direction?

I suggest doing a search on this subject rather than hi-jacking this thread. There has to be at least 1000 posts on this very question.

hi all I bought a kipor keg3500tc ( digital) and I would say save your money spend a little more and get the Honda eu3000is
my kipor would not even run my microwave. with out going in to over load..
I bought it on ebay and paid $625.00 and $150 shipping to phoenix.
the unit looks ok i put oil and gas in it, and ran a fan for 20-30 min. then pluged in my lance 1121 and it ran the charger but not the microwave. over load.
may be if you get a and inverter kipor it might work. but a hard lesson. i am not happy with kipor right now>>
i did find what i think is a great price on new honda generators
NORTH WEST TOOL SELLS A NEW HONDA EU3000IS FOR $1689.00
AND NO SALES TAX AND FREE YES FREE SHIPPING THE # IS 877.495.8665
thay also sell other honda stuff at a great price with no shipping and sales tax
HONDA IS VERRRRRY PROTECTIVE ABOUT TELLING EVERYONE WHAT THAY SELL THERE STUFF FOR. THATS WHY MOST WEB SITES WILL NOT TELL YOU A PRICE
YOU HAVE TO CALL. I HOPE THIS WILL SAVE SOME ONE FROM MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!! GOOD LUCK. 3 DUNERS

3duners, If you did some reseach on the this forum before you bought the generator, you would have seen to buy the ti model, and to stay away from the tc model. I have read the problem of the tc units not running AC, so now we can add microwaves to a reason not to buy the tc model, I have ran my AC and microwave at the same time with my 3500ti, but it worked the generator very hard.

jkmcgrath wrote: I have both a Honda EU2000I and a Kipor KGE3000TI, if its not raining over the weekend I plan on measuring the db on them.
Honda Eu2000I (2 hours on gen) @ 21' 900w load (56.25%), db meter "a" weighted and pointed to the front panel
eco on = 60db (case/gen considerable vibration)
eco off = 64db (case/gen smooth)
Kipor testing next.
EDITED:
Kipor KGE3000TI (8 hours on gen approx) @ 21' 1700w load (60.7%), db meter "a" weighted and pointed to the front panel
eco on = 63db (case/gen some felt vibration)
eco off = 65db (case/gen smooth)
observations,
The Kipor to my ear is more pleasing, the Honda noticably shakes in eco mode. The Kipor's inverter is louder than the Honda. The 50lb weight of the Honda is obviously nice. ![biggrin [emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/biggrin.gif)
Too windy/gusty and too much traffic today for seeing how "quite" they are capable of. The wind gusts and passing cars can clearly be heard over either gen. DB's measured the same at different points during the test (cold or warmed up)
