I just want to add a few little side notes to Jim's excellent presentation of his nomination.
First, Scenic view is an extremely well maintained and clean campground as evidenced by the photo of the men's shower room. Although in the hills of Southern Ohio, the town of Logan 6 miles away has much to offer campers such as the Walmart and hospital mentioned, but also an urgent care center, several restaurants, antique shops, a Kroger's grocery chain store, many caterers, a general hardware store, a rental store, Amish goods and crafts, a state liquor store, as well as several gas stations.
Although Chris and I live in Ohio we have never been to the Hocking Hills area. We were quite surprised when we arrived, it is very scenic and offers so much to do that a weekend is not enough time to see or do it all.

Thank you so much for visiting and recommending Scenic View. What a terrific, detailed report. It looks like a super spot to me, especially with all those fabulous trees. As mentioned earlier, I had no idea Ohio had such an interesting area ... CAVE-O-RAMA, plus antiques, plus galleries, plus a Kroger!
Note: Kroger = ready made treats for the potluck-cooking-impaired. Who me?

Thanks for all of the research and for the excellent report and photos. It looks great to me...super clean and tidy.
Are the roads that take you to the Wal-Mart and Kroeger's wide and straight or narrow and winding? Are we talking 6 miles in 10 minutes with one hand on the steering wheel, or 6 miles in 20 minutes with white knuckles?

6 miles in 15 minutes using both hands but well worth the ride. From most directions you'll go through Logan to get to Scenic View.

We got to Hocking Hills driving from Athens and going west and left the area heading back south to US 50 so never got to Logan. The road from Athens is a two hander.

Are you ready?????? The survey is now available to record your choice of location for B-5. The dates of the Rally will be May 16-18, 2008 (although many come earlier and stay later). Three sites to choose from (Gary has withdrawn sponsorship of Nebraska since he no longer owns a B):
A. Ceraland Campgrounds, Columbus, IN
B. Seashore Campsites, Cape May, NJ
C. Scenic View Family Campground, Logan, OH
Please note the following:
1. Only vote if you have or plan to have a "B" RV by the time of the Rally AND
2. Only vote if you have a high probability of attending (Unforseen circumstances exempted because they can happen to anyone) AND
3. You must be a verified, registered Rv.Net Forum member for your vote to count.
With that said......Go VOTE!

You don't need to sign up at this point, only vote on which location you would prefer. Mike will have to let you know when the voting ends.

The voting will remain open at least 30 days. This is NOT the sign up for the Rally; it is to see where the Rally is to be held. The registration dates will be announced by the chosen Rally Host. I would assume since it takes time to set up the registration web page, that registration won't start before October but that is just my guess.
