Tracy and I left Norco at 7:30pm on Wednesday July 2nd. We headed up Hwy 38. Once we reached 2N93 Wildhorse Trail we took the Jeep off the trailer and headed in the 8 miles to camp. Yellow Post 54 is located at 8700' on Sugarloaf Mountain approx 4 miles (as the crow flies) southeast of Big Bear Lake. We were leveled off and ready for bed at 10:30pm.

On Thursday July 3rd we took the Jeep out 2N93 to Hwy 38 and down to 1N45 Santa Ana River Road. We did some fishing and had a nice quiet lunch by the river. After lunch it was back up Hwy 38 to Onyx Pass and then we took 2N93D, a black diamond trail, back to camp. Dinner was homemade lasagna with salads and french bread.

On Friday July 4th we met with our So Cal 4x4 Geocaching group for a day on the trails. One of our group in a 4Runner wouldn't start. Tracy took the group out on the trails while I ran into town looking for a starter. All 3 parts stores in town were closed for the holiday. We re-installed the starter with a jumper wire bypassing the solenoid and they were able to drive the 4Runner down the hill and home.
Tracy and I were back in camp at 5:30pm for dinner, ribs, salads and rolls. At 7pm we took the Jeep on the back roads to avoid traffic. 2N93 to 2N27 Sand Canyon to Moonridge to 2N10 Skyline Dr to 2N08 Knickerbocker. We picked out a spot on 2N08 to watch the fireworks. We were approx 700' above the lake and approx 1 mile from the launch site. All summer Big Bear Lake has a handful of boats on the water after dark. Tonight there were at least 1000 boats on the water to watch the fireworks. The fireworks started at 9:15pm and ended at 9:45pm.

After the fireworks ended we headed up 2N08 to 2N10 , down 2N06 Radford Truck Trail, over 1N04 Front Line Rd to Hwy 38. Up Hwy 38 to 2N93 and back in camp right at midnight, 33 miles of trails.

Saturday July 5th was our lazy day in camp. Reading, napping, etc. We took the Jeep into town at 6pm to have dinner with a friend. Back in camp at 9pm.

Sunday July 6th we broke camp at 9am and drove the 8 miles out to Hwy 38.

We parked the truck, camper and trailer and took the Jeep 1 mile to 1N38 Heart Bar Peak, a black diamond trail. We drove to the top and hid a geocache.
