My biggest reason to have a camper is the fall striper (bass) run at Montauk. So here is a little taste of what it looks like. ![[image]](http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t328/Supercutter/Montauk%20park/P1010074.jpg) ![[image]](http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t328/Supercutter/Montauk%20park/P1010072.jpg) ![[image]](http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t328/Supercutter/Montauk%20park/P1010062.jpg) ![[image]](http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t328/Supercutter/Montauk%20park/sewer2kings.jpg)

Montauk was the reason I got into truck camping years ago.
I used to live out there and surfed those beaches for years, I always took the time to check out the hundreds of TC's that lined the beach in the fall.
It seemed to be such a great way to get around and yet have some creature comforts to boot.

The fish still there? Im getting out there later this week. Had a few aborted attempts the last few weeks, life keeps getting in the way. The beaches to the West have taken a beating with the last few storms, Democrat Point is closed to vehicles, Smiths Point has restricted vehicles to Burma Road, leaving out TCs. Was at Sore Thumb yesterday, theres 1/2 a beach left. And no fish.
Even so its amazing what oportunities exist only an hour or two from NYC.

On Ocean Parkway just east of the Overlook Beach lot you will see the entrance. Permit required same as the one for Democrat Point and Montauk.

Just make sure you have an air supply, theres no air at Sore Thumb, you would have to go to Democrat point for air.
