I've been in love with that park since I was young. I see they're finally restoring the batteries a little. I know Portland Iron Works was building a new cannon for one of the batteries a while back. I see they finally finished it [emoticon].

What loop were you staying in?

I'm not sure what loop but as you come out of the Ranger Station and hang a right. Many of the areas are closed for the winter. I stay in the last loop on the right, space number 274. Not that many people camping so you had your pick of spaces to park in.

Should I be surprised to see a pelican there? I have been there as well as other Oregon Coastal spots and never remember seeing a pelican. My first camping trip was on a Honda 175, with my sleping bag on the handlebars.

After the Seattle to Portland bicycle classic last summer we stayed at Fort Stevens a few days. It is a neat place.

We stayed there and did a good amount of hiking on the trails and beach. It was raining there during our stay so if not out doing things we were in the camper. That was one time the full hookups were appreciated. The fort area had a good museum and Astoria was interesting to drive around and look at all the old house styles. The jetty picture is my favorite and the birds picture was good too. Bet that jeep makes a good tow vehicle for the dodge [emoticon]

The Dodge does a great job getting me and my junk from here to there.
This was the first outing for the new to me 2003 Dodge.

Nice clean looking setup. We're going to go to Twin Harbors SP to storm watch at the next opportunity. All those coast parks are fun.
