Mooney really awesome we stuck down here in Florida with high humidity and the only Santa I saw was in the back seat of a squad car. A guy dressed up as a Santa and broke into some house for some "reverse Christmas gifting." He will be spending his Christmas in the "greybar hotel."

Very nice pix, I am going to save some of them for my screensaver. Talk to you soon.

Very nice Mooney,
That looks like the place I'd go if I could for Christmas.

How about some operational data, updating us jealous people on your beautiful new Host Camper. You have the battery bank in there and that nice big Honda generator. How is all that planning and extra stuff in your camper working?

Merry Christmas.

Couple of questions Mooney

Did you really need the chains? Why do you have your windsheild wipers folded out?

Yes it's R2, chains required.

Blades stick to glass, lift to avoid problems.

Mooney, Is Upper Pines open at first come first serve? Trying to get reservation on line and it says nothing available. Going up there this weekend or Tahoe. Thanks

During Winter sites are first come, first served.

Usually the first two loops are open as the rest are not cleared when snow sets in.

Everything working well.

I run the 12v basement heaters during the day as they only draw 7amps. While running the generator in the afternoon I turn all the tank heaters on.

Set the furnace to 48 degrees during day while out. Use Wave Heater in the evening, use furnace over night.

I am truly amazed at how efficient the Wave Heater is . . . it sips propane.

In my Lance we used about a 1/3-1/2 a tank of propane a day depending on cold it gets. This time around I have used less than 1/2 of one tank in two days.

Been using generator in gasoline mode, since propane is $3.35 a gallon and gas is $1.60. Filling my 5 gallon Jerry Can for $7.42 put a big smile on my face.

I did manage to freeze one of the rear jacks. It seems the exhaust from the truck help melt snow and then refreeze when the engine was off. Couple hours later when to move the jack and it was a no-go. Managed to pull out my wifes .357 Magnum, 1800 watt, global warming battery killing . . . hair dryer . . . and fix the situation.

What a beautiful place.

Beautiful pictures! We have to check out Yosemite in the winter sometime.

I am curious what you are using for internet access? My AT&T cell phone (iPhone) had very poor coverage in the campgrounds, so very poor to no internet access. Oddly enough, the top of Nevada Falls and Yosemite village were a lot better.

My iPhone works good in Upper Pines. Edge service only. Use the wifi at yosemite lodge during day.
