Mojave Trip
May 30,2005
A Trip FROM the PAST

I thought I’d share a pasted weekend trip that my Julie and I did with my Uncle Gary and Aunt Roberta, venturing to the Mojave National Preserve. We drove our TC to Yucca Valley where my aunt and uncle live, from there we traveled to Mojave National Preserve going through 29 Palms taking Amboy Rd heading north to the I-40.

In taking this route we will pass by the town of Amboy, which is well know in this area. Getting to Mojave National Preserve headquarters only to find it closed, humm, park hours sign showed it should be open, oh well off to Midhills campground to secure a site.

Rain had fallen not long ago and one of the dry streams we are going to explore still had water flowing down it, for here my Uncle and Aunt were going to show us how to pan for gold.

Once settled in at our site, we made plans for the gold panning, seeing Mitchell Caverns and some of the other sights in Mojave NP. This was a great way to spend a weekend, see all the pictures at this LINK.

Best regards, c.traveler2

I believe Silver has a Verizon wireless implant directly into the cerebral cortex that accesses, through a special gmail server, all forum posts with any of the following words or phrases: "just got back", "we went", "trip", or "Lot's of Pics" [emoticon]

Well now Farctic, think I'll test that theory and post my next trip report about 3am to see if that's true. If it is I will have roused him from a deep sleep![emoticon]

...that's nearly right on ![emoticon]!

...and, because posts/e-correspondence are, for the most part, not encrypted, every Internet packet on Earth can be filtered, disseminated, and, if warranted, flagged for immediate attention [emoticon]

...just kidding!

It's the aluminum hat that does it all, in addition to Farctic's detailed elucidation [emoticon]
