She has to take pictures... and share.

You'll be working over there before it's over.

This is the trip that keeps 'em young! The woman with Janet is 91.

When we left Bryce Canyon we were hungry and tired. We headed toward Hatch, Utah where we'd seen a couple of resturants as we came through there that morning.

We chose the Adobe Cafe, the crowded one (5 vehicles). The food was fantastic... and the resturant was very clean, friendly, and available. The frenchfrys were coated with a very thin and lightly spiced beer batter... crispy on the outside, steamy on the inside.

After dinner we started south looking at some boondocking spots I'd spotted that morning, looking for level and far enough off the road to not be hit by a sleepy driver... wouldn't be any texting or cell phones... no signals.

We ended up stopping at one of those wide pull-offs that is used to push snow or for snow removal equipment. No snow today.

Level, good view with the slide facing correctly, and traffic sounds not bothersome.

It was too early in the year for the cabin owners to be visiting and the builders on the one in the picture weren't working.

We had done the North Rim of the Grand Canyon the day before, and traveled the day before that, driven to Bryce, etc... a lot of driving... a lot of activity.

The boondocking spot was actually very nice... the only sound we heard was when the occassional vehicle strayed over those "Zip" indentations in the berm.... Ripppp!

We ended up staying an extra day... just resting and reading... never left the camper. (don't you just love being self contained?) It was warm in the day cold at night.

Time to go...

We avoid visiting the more popular National Parks during holidays and weekends. We rest, others go, we have the rest of the week when it's less crowded.

I built geodesic domes in 1974... still have an eye for them.

We could have been very happy here... free, no neighbors, no smoke, and the scenery wasn't bad. The mountain is further back that it looks in the picture.

Everyone should enter Zion from the east... a lot to see and the tunnels are neat. Maybe make it one-way.

I didn't have any preconcieved ideas about what we'd see.
