We spent last week in Death Valley. Weather was good but wildflowers were poor. Titus canyon was just graded. Here are a few pictures:

The wife and I did Death Valley a couple of years ago, and are looking forward to going again. Too bad, you missed the wildflowers. When we went, we missed them by one week. We did get to see some.

Al,
Great pics and report. I think you like this place as much as we do.
We'll be arriving at the southern end of D.V. Thurs, March 26th, and moving generally northward until departing on Apr. 4, or 5, or 6 or 7. It's supposed to be a the peak of flowering, according to the blogs, and such as this year is.
This time we'll get to the Panamint Valley, Ballarat, Wildrose Cyn. to Skidoo, Greenwater valley and environs, the Racetrack, and coming out via Hunter Mt. pass road.
A short year ago we did a small scale, much off-road, caravan to D.V. with 4X4X4, Rick Weisner.
regards, as always, jefe

We were there the same time but we stayed at Furnace creek campground. Yes Titus canyon was great this time, it is my favorite drive in DV and the view from the top of the pass is outstanding. Great pictures and we probably passed on the roads somewhere in Death Valley. Don't you just like playing golf below sea level?

Should be fixed now. Here are some pics from the last week in Feb.

Darwin Falls
[image]

The West Flank of Telescope Peak
[image]

Sand dunes at Stovepipe Wells
[image]

Old rebar steps in Mosaic Canyon (no longer needed). Note marble layers on the bottom. Prettiest Canyon in our opinion
[image]

The upper part of golden Canyon approaching "Red Cathedral"

The base of Red Cathedral. VERY Vertical cliffs
[image]

Boondocking up Trail Canyon. View across Death Valley at sunset.

Headed toward "The Hole-in-the_Wall". It is a gap between two LARGE mountains thru which a lot of water drains when it rains.

282' felow sea level. No scuba gear required
[image]

Took about 400 pics, but hope these convey some flavor of our trip.

Rick
