Due to retirement, moving, building a new house and the DW being treated for cancer. This was our first trip since October 2006.
We left Montana on March 19 to meet family on Ivanpah dry lake near Primm, Nv for a land sailing regatta. Since we got off to a late start we ended up spending the night at Dads Truck Stop south of Idaho Falls listening to refer motors. We arose early the next morning and made our way to the dry lake fighting head winds the whole way.
But, once we arrived we had a great time except for the two nights of wind that rocked the camper.

We left on 28th and headed for Death Valley but, not before stopping in Las Vegas to visit a laundromat and Trader Joes.
We arrived at Death Valley in the afternoon and although the DW and been there as a young girl this was my first time.
We enjoyed the view from Ubehebe Crater
[image]
We were unable to find a campsite in the park so we camped on BLM land outside the park. This was a first for both of us.
We reentered the park on Sunday and enjoyed..
Scottys Castle
[image]
Titus Canyon
[image]
Badwaters
[image]
and Artist Loop
[image]
We were able to obtain a site at Furnace Creek for Sunday night
[image]
We left on Monday and exited the park from the west through Lone Pine, Ca on the way to Bishop for a couple of nights.
We stopped at Manzanar to visit the museum and grounds.
Upon arriving in Bishop we found a nice relaxing site at Browns Town
[image]
and made a visit to Schat's Bakery.
We left Bishop Wednesday and stopped for the night at Topaz Lake RV Park.
We continued onto our former hometown of Meadow Valley, Ca to visit friends. On the way we picked up our daughter in Reno, Nv. We had a great time reestablishing friendships.
We hit the road on Monday the 6th and headed for home. Our first night we had planned on staying at the KOA in Klamath Falls. Due to arriving early and not caring for the grounds we decided to travel on. We attempted to camp in Sisters, Oregon however, our favorite RV park had been paved over and is now a shopping center.
So we continued north and ended up in Metolius at Mt.View RV Park.
After a night we headed for Deschutes River Recreation Area near the Columbia River.

This was a beautiful place to camp once you became use to the traffic on Interstate 84. We went to bed that night planning on staying for two nights. During the night the winds came down the canyon hitting the camper like a freight train. And if the wind wasn't blowing then the train whistles were. We looked at each other the next morning and decided to leave a day early.
We traveled to Coeuer d'Alene and spent our last two nights at Blackwell Island RV Park.

We arrived home on Friday the 10th after 3 great weeks.

Hi,
I loved the pictures you posted .
I have found that uploading pictures to a web album and sharing them is an easier way than adding pictures on my posts (just a suggestion).
If you would to know more about it please take a look at my website or PM me at anytime.
