While I certainly appreciate the appreciation, I have no intention of going head to head with the Jedi master of trip reports. I will however continue in my own humble way to share my journeys with others, as it gives me great pleasure to do so.

Great pictures. I wonder if that movie set is one of the bunch the peoplea in Kanab bought to raise and heal animals? There is a group that bought hundreds of acres off Hwy12 and 89 in Utah and now offer tours and RV parking. I wonder if that is part of it.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

Frank, the outfit above is located in Angel Canyon just north of Kanab on Highway 89 - I don't know if this is the same group you're referring to. They also do the TV show Dogtown

Competition? With Seldom? This guy's got me beat right outta the gate. I do however, have my "Tanya Harding metal rod" handy for kneecaps to slow a guy down.[emoticon][image]

Thanks for the hints and photos on places to go back for. That is an incredible part of our country.

I honestly have no idea - the place is right next to a contemporary home just off the highway. There was a gate (closed) leading to a driveway (wagon trail?) but no evidence anyone had been "doing" anything there in quite some time. If Testudo says it's an old movie set, I'll take his word for it.

While At Bull Valley Gorge did you see the old pick-up truck wedged into the slot canyon half-way down? Decades ago a truck slid off the wet road and fell into the canyon, wedging itself halfway to the canyon floor, killing at least one of the occupants. The body had to be roped out.
You can see remnants of the truck mixed with the rock and debris forming the bridge over the slot.
