35' 5er needing full hook-up
I'm trying to plan a trip from Coos Bay, Ore to N.Cal for a week next June. Trying to get near SF without getting into city. Maybe Napa. But when I look on Cal State Parks, State parks are far and few between on 101 with full hook-up. Any advise for preferrably State Parks, or nice spacious private RV Sites around N.Cal and Napa from the Ore/Cal border???

This is at least one place that is north of SF but not too far that you can take the truck into the city on a daily basis. It is the KOA in Petaluma right off of Hwy 101 just before you get into Petaluma.
KOA Petaluma

There are not very many California State parks in Norhtern Ca, that have full hookups.
But there are some nice RV parks in Eureka and Arcata then down near the redwoods, there is one right off 101 in Benbow that has a nice 9 hole golf course aadjacent to it.

Too bad you need hook-ups, Half Moon Bay State Park is a neat place to stay to use the BART to get into San Fran. Last time we stayed at a private campground, but were tent camping. Campgrounds

We have used Half Moon Bay as base for two trip to SF, using BART and Cable Cars and Trolley Buses .
Trolley

Trouble is getting down to the south coast from Coos Bay side of CA.

Petaluma KOA for what your needs are. The other RV parks mentioned are South of the City and would take you through it which you are trying to avoid. Unless of course you were to make a huge detour to get to the campgrounds South of SF.

i know of no state parks with hookups north of SF. Napa has 2 parks with hookups, neither i would call spacious. Skyline Park is in a rural area, next to the county park. it has trails and is next to vineyards. but the sites aren't spacious. the other is Napa Town and Country Fairgrounds. they have newly remodeled spaces and is near the downtown, Wine Train and other spots.

spacious private parks don't exist in Calif., unless it's the desert.
