Above Bishop, both Parchers and Creekside have room for big rigs. Hurry up, though -- the color won't last long, and there is a storm on the way. This was last year in that area:

I know 15 years ago I stayed at a state park just north of Bridgeport. And last summer stayed at one of the many RV parks in Bishop. You might try looking here.

You can boondock for free at the Indian Casino just north of Bishop. If you are coming south look for the casino on the right. Turn right on the street just before the casino and their dry camping area is on the right hand side of the side street. You can park in the paved lot or on the grass area under the trees. Just let security know you are there when you arrive.

Dave,

The Trailer Life Campground Directory lists a lot of CGs along your route. Just try to fuel in Gardnerville/Mindon as Lee Vining is very expensive and Mammoth is expensive, Bishop is cheaper at the Indian Casino gas station.

Glass Creek in the Inyo Nat. Forrest gets my vote too. It's not too far from there to run over into Yosemite, and there are a couple of nice little towns close by too. Although, it's 7500 feet and I bet it's getting pretty cold up there! Better have the propane tank full [emoticon]
