What do you think?
We have a fiver pernamently set up on a Florida lot.
I am thinking of taking along a smallish Canadian flag to either hang or fly.
I realize that foreign flags are a touchy subject in America, there was a big blowup a few years back when a Canadian snowbird attempted to fly a Canadian flag in Florida.
I do understand the protecal of the American flag being larger and flown above a foreign flag.
Just wondering, dont` want to get tossed out of our park.

We spend all winter in Arizona and I fly the Canadian flag, but I also fly the American flag beside it, both the same size, people at our rv site have no problem at all with it, if your a normal happy go lucky Canadian like we are, then you will get along with everyone. Have a great winter, we do.

Well, we are talkin' about Florida, which means you never can tell. I wouldn't think anybody would have a problem, but there's always the rogue redneck. But, better a Canadian flag than a Chinese one...! Seems like an ice-breaker to me. Everyone will see the flag, know you are from Canada, and walk up to you and state the obvious, "You from Canada...?"[emoticon]

I can't see why anyone would have cat fits over a citizen of one country flying a flag from that country.

Perhaps modesty in all things is appropriate. But I would expect anyone would understand and respect another person being proud of their own country.

After when travelling outside either of these 2 countries almost all Canadians carry luggage, day packs, hip containers, purses, etc. just about fully covered with Canadian flags.

Well, we have been in the park for six years, know and get along well with most of the regulars.
The problem is that politics is such a touchy subject, one never knows where they stand.

i can't speak for them but i work for a Candian Company. i wouldn't stay there if i knew they gave anyone grief over flying a Candian flag (or another contry). there's enough folks from this country that don't know how to act to worry about people from other places that do act right.[emoticon]

Never had a problem at any of our Michigan Samborees and even have a Canadian who signs both athems at times. All nation flags are to be flown at the same height and size does not matter. Just don't fly your flag higher than some old jar head with chip on his shoulder.

Don't know about Florida but in Texas it would be LOST in the sea of Mexican flags being flown.

Also, while we didn't STAY in any of them, we SAW a lot of American Flags being flown in Canadian campgrounds on our way to Alaska.

I'd be surprised if anyone would give any foreign national a hard time about flying the flag of their native country by itself. I've never witnessed it, never heard of it happening, and would certainly never condone it or do it myself.

Flying ANY nations flag along with the American flag is a different story, and I would advise learning proper flag etiquette if you are going to display the American flag. Flying the American flag incorrectly is inviting a confrontation IMHO.

As long as you don't do something stupid like this, I doubt you have anything to worry about.

We're in FL for 6 months every winter and some of our best friends are Canadian. Some of them fly Canadian flag. No one cares. The only requirement, that I know, is if the US and Canadian flags are flown side by side that the Canadian flag be flown no higher than the US flag.
