Beautiful Senor Smith, beuatiful. Your spot looks like a carbon copy of DonCurley's location below the La Sal Mtns. near Moab.

Your geographical locale puts you in the unique situation where, if one gets cabin fever from snow, one can, in literally a few minutes (what, 40?) drive to the desert environ.

In my humble opinion, the absolute diversity of landscapes is hands down the best thing about living in the Four Corners region. Mountains, canyons, deserts..... So much to choose from, I admit I am spoiled.

OK, it's on my list. What's the total hike distance? We may just get a chance to do it this spring.

You can't find a better place to spend the spring this year. Temps should be very pleasant, and with all the moisture we've had the desert should be glorious in bloom.

Give me a holler when you get here - I'd be more than happy to hike a trail or two with you.

You are so fortunate indeed. Within 45 minutes of Charelston I have the choice for swamp land, ocean, swamp land, black rivers, swamp land and a grand elevation change of about 150' IF you count the new Ravenal Bridge.

I've quit putting all of your treks on my wish list since the list was getting too long. I replaced it with "Hire SSS as trip advisor".

Great photos as usual. Thanks for getting out and sharing your experience with us.

If you ever need a new employer, perhaps the AZ travel bureau folks would be interested? Fabulous photos, ditto the narrative. Thanks!

Well now you done did it, it's no longer a SECRET WILDERNESS. But I will say great pictures, must be from a new camera? And without my good glasses on I first thought it was a hike up Beer Mountain. That kind of hike would have some hops to it. Nice looking trip there Seldomseensmith, get ready for a great spring in the Arizona Desert this year.

Eric,

Nice pics. Brings back fond memories of attending NAU. Is Oak Creek canyon still as beautiful as ever? It was always my favorite bike ride and get away from the rigors of school.

Thanks for sharing.

Steve
