The DW and I was able to get away for one night w/ out the kids and do some x-country skiing the weekend of Feb. 27 & 28.
here is a pic of the TC packed and ready to go.

[image]We drove up to northern lower Michigan to go x-county skiing at Big M near Wellston, MI. they were having their moonlight ski on Saturday night with a camp fire and desserts for a donation. Weather was a little warm around 40 degrees during the day and only 30’s at night.
Instead of boon docking in the woods the DW talked me into staying at a campground (Twin Oaks campground and cabins) in Wellston. She know I would be up every hour to check the battery and heat so nobody would get any sleep.Very nice campground just a few snowmobilers.
We had a great time, everything on the TC worked great no problems. And hope to do more winter camper this year.
Even our new puppy (Toby) got to come along.

thanks for letting me share the Geisenhaver family.

It looks like you had a real great time out there x-country skiing!

Many thanks for taking us along on your winter journey during winter in Michigan [emoticon]

I'm placing your Report into Trip Reports now.

On edit: great looking puppy; looks like you'll have many many years of camping with the new member of the family.

Cheers,

Good job gman! Keeping working on convincing others that there's no need to winterize and put away the camper just because it's winter! The smiles on those faces in the family shot are priceless.....looks like fun being had by all. Is that an ice-skating rink behind you or just a big Christmas tree?

Looks like a great trip, Thanks for the invite, we wish we could have gone with you. I love winter camping, even if you do stay in a campground there's not too many other people so it can feel like boon-docking but with power. [emoticon]
