So what if we didn't have a bad winter in the Northeast? So we didn't really need a get away? Wrong! Don't say "let's go camping" to those of us up here in the cold or we just all migrate to a warm spot for the weekend. Nine TCs had an impromptu weekend at Schusset Beach on the east end of the Cape Cod Canal.

Warm, sunny, very very windy but oh so gorgeous to be out again.

Farctic Ox and TwoMaineiacs set up the grills for a weekend of feasting. Trapper Dick, Sailor, Phil, Mikee and several others who don't post on RV.NET all showed up with our usual pot lucks and adult beverages. Phil made muffins which is why he's called "The Muffin Man".

We walked the beach, climbed on the jetty, got sunburned , tried to shield from the constant wind and traded tall tales of places to go and trips already taken.

How many people does it take to put up a windscreen? On Cape Cod - a lot.

It looks to have been a great little quickire trip, which are many times the best. Love ocean pictures, they made me happy as a clam. I even recognize one of the grill masters there. Thanks for the trip...

Wish we could have been there. I have not been to the Cape in years. Glad you all had a good time.

It was one of those trips that came together in about 12 hours. Shake down for all of us to get the winter "stuff" shaken out. Sometimes those are the most fun.

It was a great weekend, with great company. And this time of year, no problem getting in. Once the warmer weather is really here, we prefer the real beach.

Hey Whazoo, that was a CAPE COD wind...with ingredients (sand, shells, seagull S***). Many engineers were required.[emoticon]

And a fine job those engineers did keeping us in calm seas - ahhhh wind. Let's see - among that group putting up the windbreaks were a retired Coast Guard Electrician, a retired Navy Destroyer sailer, a retired submariner, a current machinist, and Mikeeee who can fix anything. That's another Joe holding the axe in case those pesky poles needing wacking <<---- technical term. Or is that Wazoooing?
