In this picture ( right above ^ here ) what is the dark line that looks like a fence/zipper that goes up the hill and left? Great photos.

A most excellent TR and exposure to parts of our wonderful country in a way that will encourage more of us to visit. Get some rest, before you begin your next adventure. I know I will be waiting for that TR too.

Thank you SSS'.

Thank You Thank You for such a wonderful adventure that you took me on.
Lately I have been getting tired of trying to buy a RV and dealing with salesmen and the games, that I am about to give up on the idea of traveling, and bingo your adventure woke me up and reminded me why I want this life in the first place.
Thank You so much for getting me excited about this life style again. I live in South Florida and this is one boring State after living here 51 yrs. So the West is calling me.

Frank,

The early settlers were very adept at using whatever materials the environment provided - the line on the hill is one such example. This is a fence built from black basalt boulders like those shown in an earlier picture.

Thanks for the great photos.

We left Capitol Reef National Park on May 16th our selves. Wife has the tee shirt to prove it.
Capitol Reef has moved up my list into a Tie with Zions for my favorite Southern Utah Park.

No tie however for the most senic paved road in the West. My favorite is Utah's Highway 12.

Just drive it sometime I think anyone would agree.

When going north Utah 12 starts at US89 goes through Red Canyon to Bryce Canyon and then ends at Torrey Utah the entrance to Capitol Reef. One fine drive for us wimps who think we need paved roads.

The rain, mud and clay at 3:00 am conjured up mental pictures of nightmare rain scenes from Jurassic Park.
Glad you made it out alright!
