We have been to Theodore Roosevelt Nat Prk North- Juniper Campground twice, any site would be pretty good. We just drove around and found one which looked good, like we normally do. We stayed at site 29 on the first trip -2008...it had a nice long pull through area and Water right by it.

2009 we used site 37, it seems, but could have been 39 or 41. There is a large meadow like mowed area between these sites and sites 46 to 50. Bison can roam through there as well. Wooded area behind sites 29, 32 to 44.

Looks like site 29 & the Even sites have RV doors open to the tables; site 30 & the Odd not. At least on this side of the CG.

Bison by the day use area as we used the dump station as we were leaving Juniper.

Badlands Nat'l Grasslands Free Campground 4 or 5 miles south of the Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park Entrance North Unit off the US 85 on a loop road. We checked it out but did not stay there after we left the Park. Nice place to stay. Maybe less bugs there. Up on higher ground and very little woods. My son has used it to overnight, nice area.

Cottonwood CG at South Unit; maybe site 35 or 28.....? In 2008. Our son's 5th Wheel, Dodge Dully and Motorcycle Trailer were parked in front of us as well, very long site.

Our Convoy in ND just north of the North Unit near Watford City on US 85, 2008.

The South Unit's Cottonwood CG Site 2, Only 3 or 4 sites left. Poor site (very small & next to trash dumpsters, but proved good for Bison watching in 2009.

TR North

If you have time also go to the South unit.

Stayed there a few nights in '06 and saw the same sights - bison everywhere! Could reach out the window of our MH and scratch their ears. Fortunately I'm not quite stupid enoiugh to try it - though some have.
