We took a quick trip with some friends to Yosemite high country at Tolumne Meadows cg. It is located on CA 120 about 8 miles or so west of the Tioga Pass entrance station at 8500 feet. Weather was cool and clear and fishing sucked. We did several hikes so here are some photos. I trust you will enjoy them.

Thanks for sharing some fantastic photos of areas I couldn't get to because of snow in June 2005.

Minor correction. Fishing NEVER sucks, catching does sometimes.[emoticon] Great pics.

Nice pics. My recent trip through Tolumne wasn't as sunny.

I came across Tioga Pass through Tolumne Meadows on Oct 2. It was a very gray day with a bit of rain. That night it rained hard on me at a FS campground just outside the NW entrance. I heard at a cafe the next morning that the pass had been closed due to the storm. I'd just made it!

Got some "gray day" pics of passing through the Park on my website (see below).

Isn't that a great place. I spent a lot of time there in winter and summer when I was young. Olmstead Point is one scary place to get across on skis as it is just a big granite slide surface. The whole thing slid ten minutes after I crossed and was sitting on a rock eating gorp.

How recent was your trip? Tioga Pass Road is still closed due to snow. This is a beautiful drive during Fall if it isn't snowing.
