Well I'll say it sure is nice to re-live this trip again, it was one of the best. Due, of course, to the company.

Nice trench there Jefe, under the "cable of fable". Wish I had been there to help...take pictures I mean, of you digging it. OK, I would have helped dig, since you had soooo much fun patching my tire. Thanks for your time and effort from beginning to end, cooking to posting, I had a blast.

Have a great Thanksgiving Hef!

So, the cable is a left over pulley line from one of the old abandoned mines up there?

It's a fairly large diameter cable (~1-1/2" to maybe 2") at the Mickey Breene mine. It's under a lot of tension and I assume it was for some form of suspended ore cart transport (although that is just a guess on my part).

Jefe, great pictures and narrative. I have done that route in a jeep, but I think I will stick to the lower elevations in my TC. You guys have really set a high standard for trip reports. Thanks.

Jefe,

Great Adventure. Thanks for taking us along in breathtaking detail. I had white knuckles just holding my computer mouse! [emoticon]
