Having lurked on this site for many years before joining, I have always enjoyed the great trip reports. The bar has been set very high on these reports by a certain POET and many others who have great skill at photography and narrative.

I have also enjoyed the many collections of pictures posted by folks whose best qualification is that they love to see what is around the next bend in the road. My pictures fall into that category. Hopefully they will add to the tapestry of images that paint such a beautiful picture of this wonderful world as seen by the truck camper.

In late September I drove from my home near Lake Texoma across southern Oklahoma and west Texas to my first campsite in the Plum Creek Area of Lake Meredith near Borger Texas.

Next day I drove across the panhandle of Texas and the vast grasslands of eastern New Mexico to Cimarron. North of Cimarron I made a left turn onto the gravel road that goes through the Valle Vidal to McCrystal campground.

Taylor Canyon in the Rio Grande National forest west of Saguache Colorado. Doesn't look like a canyon to me, but is pretty:

Thanks for viewing. BTW I have updated my profile if you want to know more about where I am "coming from".

You really know how to hurt a guy. It's been SO LONG since we were in Colorado. It's been almost two months and I'm ready. Eleven more days and we leave for winter in Arizona. I'm ready for that, too. Thanks for the photos.

I don't care what RV a person has, we all should have some envy about the true freedom to travel that a Truck Camper gives you! I often think I should have got a TC to explore the back country paradise we are so lucky to have here in this wonderful Country! And especially here in Californa! [emoticon]

Nice looking Labs, by the way!

Very nice!! Thanks for posting. Too bad the "Rockies" got their revenge, a little bit. Your pictures really makes me miss Colorado and the Fall Colors. Of course, the dogs seal it for me. Great TR.

Nice photos with narratives. Why don't you move here and enjoy it every day....and then you can stop telling everyone else how great it is! Our relatives all think we are up to our necks in snow all the time. We don't tell them different!

Good write-up and pics Bill. While we do a lot of our camping/Jeeping/hiking in Utah, we're just 12 miles from the Colorado border, so we're over there about half the time.
