Took my air dam that was previously on my Lance 1055 and spiffed it up for my Lance 1050S.

Here is how it looked on the 1055

Do a search on Sleepy's Air Foil project, he has details pertaining to this.

They definitely help with bugs in the catchers mitt and wind noise around the cab roof.

It doesn't need to contact the roof... it will work great just as he built it. jumbo did a great job.

My inexpensive airfoils have been built and used by many people since I put the first ones on about 7 years ago.

The holes are essential

Is the center section curved. If not does that not defeat the purpose. What do you do when Carol drives spin it around. What is the clearance to the cab now? Maybe a little fringe or foam to fill the void.

The real purpose was to reduce some of the bug splatter on the under cabover frontal area of the TC. This was a success on the 1055. With the slots, I may get some shredded remains.

Carol who? Oh - no - she will not drive.

I have thought about the fringe.

I haven't driven the 1050S yet with the air dam. One thing I do notice about the 1050 vs. the 1055 is that there is less space between the cab of the truck.

I am loading up this afternoon and will take pictures while on the truck.

Is there Air noise? To be determined. On my previous 1055, there was a reduction in noise

Would this save fuel? If it did, I would imagine it would be minimal. Should flow some of the air around that frontal area that catches and traps air

I measured and have 3-3/4" clearance between the cab and the TC. The air dam is 5".
