Was thinking of putting them on my 2500HD. Anyone have some actual use feedback?
Thanks,
Ralph

I use them, when the camper is on I feel it does reduce the amount of side to side sway I had. They are fairly easy to install and engage/disengage. However, the hardware (quick release pins) rattle every time i hit a bump in the road. That has me looking for a way to quiet them down. Other than that they work great. In fact I rarely disengage them because I don't mind a stiff ride. Another benefit was keeping the airbags at a lower PSI

Thanks for the replies. Always good to get info from real users.
Frankly, I've already bought and received them. I was having some second thoughts about installing them, but now I'll do it.

We do. Now that we've been released from "non-disclosure" I can say that they were installed on our F350/Chalet out in Oregon at Torklift last year. We were part of the "test them as hard as you can" preview group. Jay Taylor of Torklift had Casey install them as a test on a heavy camper. We were having issues with some side to side sway after installing some heavier springs prior to our trip. We weren't even out of Kent, WA before we noticed a HUGE difference. The sway was gone, the truck even seemed to handle better. Immediate first test was driving up the LoLo Pass in a snowstorm. Easy handling.
During this past winter, the times we had the camper off the truck, we disconnected the QDSLs (we called them that for quick disconnect stable loads) very easily. They turn outward from the springs very easily which we had wondered after six months of road dirt. Even though we keep the truck as clean as possible including underneath we had wondered how easily they would work. Easy! The truck rode very hard without a load so disconnecting them until the camper was loaded again made sense.
As always, Torklift is a great company, giving personal service and answering questions quickly.

I just installed a set. Before these, I had the earlier version of stable loads for the GM trucks. They worked great except for the fact that they were always making contact so you always had the stiff ride. With the new "quick disconnect" version, they have been vastly improved. I havent used them yet, but its obvious that they will work just as well as the early version, and those worked great. Actaully, the quick disconnect version has also changed in style from the first ones out. The square ratchet hole that you use to swing them in and out has been repositioned and less protruding. Atleast thats what it looks like to me, since mine did not look like the ones shown in the installation guide, which by the way leaves a lot to be desired.

If you can wait about a week I will let you know. I just ordered a set from Tweety's RV today. Had the originals (available if anyone is interested) on my 2011 Chevy HD last season and loved them.

Is it possible to convert the old non adjustable style to an adjustable style? I have one that contacts constantly and creates a stiffer ride when unloaded.

The old style is suppose to be adjustable. The problem is the space between the lower over load and the main spring pack is not enough on alot of the GM trucks. Its been an ongoing problem all along. Im sure this is the main reason that Torklist redesigned the whole product.

I concur on that! I'm going to have the tire place install mine, so I made a "mockup" (using a small board for the spring). I found the plate holes and shape don't match what is shown in the instructions. I'm not the most mechanically inclined fellow, but I think I finally figured out how to put them together. I sent some pics to TL to find out if I'm right.

I wondered what that square hole was for! Their instructions sure could use a re-write!

I really highly recommend them. For us they have made a huge difference! We spent the month of February traveling from northern Michigan to Key west for a total of 4032 miles. I knew my truck had the muscle to tow something that big but I did have my concerns about the ride. To be safe, while on the highway we tried to keep the speed to 60 but other than that, we felt a total ease with the handling and negotiating in some very heavy traffic. Even several days of running around in downtown Key West (that was a real treat).
Even though I have the quick disconnect, I don't disconnect them. Due to a large exhaust on the passenger side and mudflaps on both sides, I was forced to reverse the installation, making it more difficult to utilize the quick disconnect feature. But the installation instructions do specify that the stableloads should not be installed as to be pressed against the overload springs so for us, when the camper is off the truck, they're not engaged anyways.
So, from my experience, I would highly recommend them. They really do make the carrying a heavy camper feel like a non issue.
Hope this helps.
