I have followed and searched the Maxxis tire vs. other debates for awhile now. Where are Maxxis tires manufactured? The web site for Maxxis seems to indicate they are a Taiwan company?(do they make them in the U.S.?) Also are there any other trailer tires manufactured in the U.S.?

Maxxis ST tires are made in Thailand.
To my knowledge there are no US made ST tires at this time.

The Maxxis tires we put on our rig have been excellent.

There are still quite a few companies in the US that make tires, but these companies also make tires in other parts of the world under their name. Thus some tire sizes that you see might be made outside of the USA, but sold here. Kelly Springfield I think is a US home made tire.
Each tire has a code that indicates country of MFG, but I can not recall where I put it. You might GOOGLE it.

Regardless of where they are made, they are the best ST tire available.

Answer directly from Maxxis…

Hello John,
I appreciate your comments and will not give you the “canned” response. We don’t do that. Yes, the Maxxis M8008 ST Radial trailer tires are indeed manufactured in our state-of-the-art factory in Thailand (only).

On a side note, while I do understand your position on China produced products, that is certainly not true across the board. Maxxis maintains several plants in China as well as Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam. A portion of our Auto and Light Truck product offering is produced in China, but not our ST Radial. I can assure you the same high level of quality workmanship and materials is maintained on China produced tires, as that of our other factories. Some Chinese goods, maybe deservingly so, has gotten a bad rap in recent years. However, not all goods produced in China are of inferior quality. Maxxis is a fine example of that.
I hope this is helpful but feel free to email me directly at the address below if you have other questions. Thanks for your email and interest in Maxxis Tires.

Love my mass produced, entry level, built by Lazy American Workers, Hornet

My GY marathons say made in the USA. They'er 1-1/2 yrs old. Not sure where all this info comes from. Not saying they are good or bad tires, but is there anyway to get the true origon of ST tires? I read this forum all the time and when it comes to where tires come from, the comments are all over the place. Seems to me the only way to know for sure is to physicly look at the tires your buying.

The reason I asked this question originally was because if I have a choice I try to buy American! Sometimes you do not have a choice and sometimes the quality is not as good be it American or non-American, depending on the product. Personally I have some time before I will need new tires and will just have to do more research between now and then.
