I have bad knees and a circulation problem in my legs which is remarkably debilitating.
I must have my legs up when I sit, which is not a problem win I am at home, but is as soon as I leave the house.
y wife was given a free room for two at a San Diego area casino. We drove down in my 2003
6.0 Ford F-250, with my scooter on a lift in back. The overnight stay was ok-some difficulty maneuvering thru the casino because there was so few open isles, and some struggling to get the scooter in and out of elevators before the doors closed. But, we did it.
We left the next morning-yesterday, down a long and windy two lane mountain road.
YESTERDAY WAS THE DAY I TRULY BELIEVED GOD WAS WATCHING ME, BECAUSE HE ALLOWED ME TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL BEFORE THE DAMN DIESEL ENGINE QUIT. Because once it did, there were no brakes and no steering.
We had to be winched onto a flatbed truck, with the scooter still on the back lift. The step up into the flatbed was so big I could not do it, and had to ride in my own truck. Very rough and strange trip.
Once again my Ford is costing me a fortune. This has been the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned, or will ever own. $3600 for a new HP fuel pump plus labor.
We had to rent a truck and drive home to LA area, with no scooter of course.

It is very hard to leave my comfort zone, and it gets worse every year. I am writing this because I wonder how people who are truly disabled would survive.

Thank you for listening.

you are a true tough guy. The 6.0 is a joke. Why I searched for months to find a low mile 7.3. You know there is a class action suit against Ford? Check into it. Bless you and good luck. I hope things get better for you.

Oh, man, that "free" room turned out expensive! We bought the first year Chevy Silverado diesel p/u years ago so can feel your pain on that. too. Yes, you sure were lucky that you made it down that mountain without a major disaster/tragedy. Thank God for that and after some rest, hopefully you two will have some good adventures ahead. We feel your pain on all counts.

Have you gotten your truck and scooter back yet? Hope so. I've had to do that, too, riding in the cab of our truck which was strapped atop a flatbed, because there wasn't room for all of us in the cab of the tow truck. What an experience! It seemed like I was riding on an elephant's back in India. Kinda felt like that, too. Ah, well, everything we survive makes us stronger, or else it kills us, one of those.
