Buzz,
This is just too close to "Travels with Charlie" by John Steinbeck. Charlie was his dog in traveling and writing about his travels in his 1960 Truck Camper.
I'm very familiar with these areas (as I live nearby) and didn't know about the green algae.
I'm hopeful for a late Sept. trip starting in this very surrounding.
You bring a fresh perspective to solo travel in a TC.
regards, as always, jefe

I read that book as a lad, I studied Marine Biology in High School and Jr College before I moved on to Human Physiology and Immunology. My cousin took me to Doc Ricketts lab as a kid. And yes I did sort of set this up in a Steinbeckian tell.

Buzzcut, Great Photos and Trip Report, I always enjoy the photos of the meals you make, it makes me hungry and makes me want to get away and do the same. I parked over by the dam at Bear Lake last year not too far from the helicopter landing pad. Glad to hear that you had a great time.

Jake is an Aussie, he is quite mellow when I leave. when I come back its a 180 he is quite animated and he has doggie torrets. He will jump around and happy bark and scream for at least 15 minutes it can be quite embarrassing if there are lots of people around

he was in the middle of one episode of happy dog when I took this picture

Explain to DW that she should follow Jake's example on how to greet you when you return from a trip. I bet she'll be glad for the advice! Ha!!

Great report. I rode my motorcycle past there yesterday, just a day ride, stopping in Tahoe at 'The Beacon' for lunch, then on home. I saw that bloom on Red Lake. Looked like pea soup!
Nothing like star gazing from my camper roof hatch in Hope Valley.
