Todd and I decided we wanted to take our son to see the Falls this year for our vacation as he has never been there. Since it was a last minute decision, we did not have passports so we stayed on the US side. However, there was so much to do and see where we were that we probably wouldn't have had time to visit the Canadian side. That means another road trip is in our future [emoticon].

We left around 4am, and it was a beautiful trip up through PA and on into NY.

We made it to Four Mile Creek State Campground around 3pm.

The French and Indian War ((1756-1763) started because France and England were competing heavily for territory in the new world. One of the most important French strongholds was Fort Niagara, which is located at the mouth of the Niagara River. Whoever had control of this fort controlled access to the Great Lakes and the westward route. "Le Petite Marais" ("The Little Marsh"), otherwise known as "Four Mile Creek" since it is four miles east of the fort, is where the British put to shore, dug trenches for their cannons, and lay siege to Fort Niagara.

Now it's so beautiful and serene

Thank You for sharing and the little history lesson also. Now be sure and get your whole family passports just in case you ever go further north or ever want to go on a cruise. I know RV.Net makes it a bit cumbersome with their picture posting, so thanks for taking the time. All the best, Hans

What a great way to spend time with your son.
This is exactly what my folks did for us when we were growing up and that's why I now RV.
Nice pics.
Thanks.

You stayed at the best campground in the area. We go often and love it each time. Something in the area for everyone. Nice pictures.

Great Photos and Trip Report, Thank you for posting. I haven't been up in Niagara Falls since 1990. It's time to go visit again!
