Does anyone else out there own a lil' snoozy travel trailer by Smoakin Concepts in St. Matthews, SC? If so, have you received any service after the purchase? I bought mine recently and have contacted Smoakin Concepts by e-mail and phone several times concerning everything from stripped threads (at the factory) on the surge brake fluid cap to an air conditioner that operated successfully ONE time, then the compressor locked up (in Alabama on a 93 degree day).

I have heard Alan Smoak is selling the business and am wondering if anyone is receiving service after the sale?

I would advise anyone out there considering buying a lil' snoozy to ask yourself if you are handy with tools, because you will need to start working on it from the moment you pull it off the lot. Lil' Snoozy sure won't do so !!

I'd BE contacting the State Attorney General and making some serious noise if they continue to ignore you AND your new camper. NOT COOL...

I have an empty Snoozy, a Lil Hauley, for cargo. When I needed to talk to someone about my axle, I called. Within 2 minutes I was put through to Alan, the owner. Simple as that.

As I understand it, Alan's son is getting out of it (at least to some degree) and a new guy named Mickle is getting in. Alan's still there.

Several Snoozy owners are on the fiberglass rv forum where I also hang out, and they are all happy campers.

Google shows him (mickle) as VP now. I wonder if it will make a transition easier if Alan ever wants to sell the business in the future. There is another owner who sold due to quality control problems. Just google snoozy door fell off. Sad considering they can approach 17 thousand bucks. The original owners also got called out shilling on other sites acting like they were potential customers but the threads got locked quick. You can still search and read them. Francesca will remember where they are.

I should add, in light of recent developments for me, that the issue with my axle was NOT resolved to my satisfaction by Alan Smoak.

The trailer I bought was an empty shell for cargo, a "Lil Hauley" rather than a "Lil Snoozy". Their website clearly states width overall of 7'11". I was unaware that they had sold me a trailer with an extra-wide axle. With fenders, the overall width was 8'6.5" or so. The problem arose when traveling a narrow country pavement with no shoulders, no center stripe, and an oncoming car. I got over far enough to make sure I would not intrude in the oncoming lane... and my trailer's right wheel ran just off the edge of the pavement, where it hit a rock large enough to blow the tire, ruin the rim, and apparently bend the axle.

Who would have thought that one needs to take a tape measure to a brand new trailer, to make sure it was as advertised? I wrote to Smoak and asked if he would stand for the axle replacement cost (I said I would eat the cost of the new rim and tires). I had replaced the torsion axle with a more readily available (and narrower!) spring axle. He wrote back, denigrated my driving, but said he would give me $250. He also said my frame needed reinforcement to withstand the stress of a spring axle.

I replied, defending my driving skill, and said that I would accept the $250 but also needed to know how and where to reinforce the frame.

His reply, simply: "Your demands are unreasonable and unacceptable." [emoticon]

I wrote back twice more, but no further response. So I cannot recommend their products.
