DiploStrat, your larger new Tiger might not be able to do parts of this trip, especially the part I did with the XTC expedition. The three rigs on that leg of the trip are roughly the same size:

The Malayan HT, on an extended cab Chevrolet 3500 is under 13' tall (with 2" suspension lift), under 23' long (with Aluminess bumper) and the same width as a Bengal.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the real world. ;-)

Tiger,

What a great, diverse state to live in where you can have the crazyness of the Los Angeles coast and the wild area where your trip report covers and every thing in between.

Sorry to hear that you are not as mobile as you usually are because many of your past reports have hiking as one of your favorite pastimes.

Like the great Whazoo, your travel journals inspire all of us to get out into the areas least travelled in our own back yard.

You are now officially adopted into the TC fraternity.

Thanks, as long as I can remain exempt from having to discuss tie-downs and jacks. :-)

Good to see you out and about, Tiger4x4. Lovely photos. I particularly like the one of the cloud formations. Right place, right time.

Thanks! Those clouds put up quite a show for at least an hour. It was hard to choose which photo to share.

Wow. I love your photos and trip report. I need to get out on a trip asap. I don't think my TT can go to all those places. But I can get close enough. Thanks for sharing.

The campgrounds I stayed in (USFS and BLM) are now closed due to winter and/or the federal shutdown. The non-campground sites (Coyote Creek and Crooked Meadow) are out of reach for your TT.

But there's next year. Or stay in the Inyo County parks which have camping.

See, here's the problem. I stay away from RV.net for a while because I am too busy, have a nearly 2 hour commute from home to work (because of the floods/washed out canyon I live in) etc....catch one look at the forum and see Jefe's TR and try to get in and get out quickly with just re-reading Jefe's post.....and now I am stuck reading all these great TR's and pictures!

Very nice photos Tiger, very nice writeup too. I really like the looks and sounds of that Crooked Meadow. And your whole trip for that matter.

Dear Tiger4x4RV,

Please stop posting such wonderful trip reports. You are making us too impatient for our Tiger to be finished.

Thank you,

Congratulations DiploStrat! I hadn't heard you settled in on what I bet will be a great choice for you! I hope some of our discussions in the past were useful too. Ordering....waiting......waiting.....waiting....that must be really hard to do. Funny I just asked Jefe the same thing, but will you be going to Flagstaff next May?
