Just had a phone conversation with Dak. he asked if a Honda 2000 would fit in the upper rear compartment of a my Lance 1055. I had tried the lower and it did not but in 4 years I had never tried the upper. So interest piqued I tried it

how about that, it does

So, organization is not my strong suit. I much prefer being kinda sorta messy, ok borderline slob... [emoticon]

But sometimes a solution just falls into your lap that makes so much sense that you just have to run with it.

One little question from Dak and I solved my packing Rubik's Cube

Generator out of the inside of the TC, and the hoses and electrical are still in the same compartment and I have room for the Kayak trolley wheels. I just need to go get some velco staps to tidy up the hoses and electrical cords.

Down below 2 2.5 gallon gas cans, toilet enzyme, 2 piece aluminum shovel, 3 emergency reflective triangles, 4 ratchet straps, enough fuel treatment for the 9 day trip, stinky slinky 90* elbow in a ziplock, and room to spare. Love it when a plan comes together

LOL did you read the whole thread? this was a prep trip to figure out how to store all the parts of the new toys along with our existing stuff and 3 dogs. The wheels are for the Kayak trolly. Kayaks on the roof, Oars behind the passenger seat, trolley frames under the passenger seat and the wheels ended up in a compartment with the generator.

I am reorganizing my rig top to bottom for a 9 day fishing, hiking and kayaking trip to Oregon in 3 weeks

haha, yes I read the whole thing. I didn't put 2 and 2 together that they were the kayak wheels. I thought you made some kind of fancy cart for the generator. Sorry.

Don't give him any ideas he's having enuf trouble packing!!!! Good solution and better with the pics. I used to use the flat hoses that I can get at CW and they worked well for many years then they started springing tiny leaks, then along came the no kink white/tan hoses, they work really well and roll up so nice that I don't need to use a wrap. I did eventually change the flimsy ends (stamped treads) to good solid brass ends no leaky joints and they can be run over. Just some helpful hints makes TCing much better for me.

Do like many of us kayakers have been doing for years, carry them. You don't need the wheels, leave them home. Some authorities (National Parks for one) will not permit you to portage boats with wheeled conveyances.

What we do is each person grabs the lead on the front of each kayak and the back person carries the back handles, of the kayaks. It is just like carrying suitcases. If one is shorter than the other a good leash works well for the shorter one.

Have fun and wear your PFDs.

carry when you have to, wheels when you don't is my motto. No PFD no go in Kayak is my rule. We wear them all the time every time no excuses.
Always appreciate your sense of priorities, Eric. Wish more people were safety minded.

Have fun and safe travels to Oregon, too!

One suggestion buzz...I don't know what that green hose is in the top pic...but I would not store drinking water hose and waste hose in the same compartment...could make for a miserable trip...

Have fun, sounds like a good one!

OK this is getting out of hand. I am getting way too organized

even my tool drawer which was a birds nest meets with the wife's approval. I fear that I have come down with some form of OCD. may it soon pass and not be a permanent condition. Heaven help me if it results in me wanting to clean out the garage[emoticon]
