As promised, I took a lot of pictures. I'm not a good narrator so I'll let the pics do most of the talking.

Some of the highlights.
Every type of rig imaginable. A Big Boys (and Gals) Toys dream.
Spent some quality time with silversands and silverdunes (great couple)
Got to meet Rory Willet and check out his new camper(s)
Got to check out some 1/2 ton compatible rigs I might want in the future.
Got to see some rigs I'll never buy but love to look at.
Met forum member hodag and got to check out his Outfitter.
Met Gordon and Angela from TCM
Met Brian (btggraphix), fulltiming now and taught a couple of classes, great guy.
Truck campers that I recall.(camping) Avion, Bigfoot, FWC's (a lot), Camplight, Northern Lite, Outfitter, Pine Mountain, XPcamper, Alaskan, Lance, Chalet, and a happy new Northstar popup owner.

Some downsides.
Weather, we had rain, wind and a heavy frost. Didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirit.
At one point they had to close the upper camping area due to the slick hill.
Not many Truck Camper manufacturers in the exhibit area.

After my recent brake failure, I paid attention to the runaway truck ramps on I-26.

I was at the expo also. I decided to make it a moto camping trip. Next year I'll be bringing the truck camper. Great show. The wind was a little tough in a tent. Was definitely wishing I had the camper.

Excellent report! Glad you were able to attend the EXPO East.

It is always great to meet fellow RV.net'r, fun to put a face/personality with a RV.net Handle.

Look forward seeing more reports, with or without narrative, the pics/captions worked.

Fine pix and rundown of OX-E. I recognize a few of those rigs and folks from former OX's.

Where were you??? [emoticon]

There were a lot of bikes there and I gotta say they were well behaved. All that mud Friday?? Had to be tempting. As I was leaving Sunday an ambulance was coming in for a bike accident victim. I was told it was minor.

Maybe stumper92 has some pics?

AWESOME! Thanks for sharing. Looks like OX-East is going to become just as successful as OX-West. I am thrilled to see that the overlanding community thriving.
Sadly, after my experiences at this year's event in Flagstaff, I doubt that I'll ever choose to attend another [emoticon]

This rig was formerly owned by Doug & Steph Hackney… For those of you who may have followed their travel blog, you may recall that one of the Fuso's frame rails got broken (in half!) during their travels through Ecuador. Yikes!

WOW this looks a very cool rig! Any idea what it is?

Cheers

It's a custom build by Phoenix. There is a thread on expeditionportal about it and an article in TCM

Hi OBX !

Nice comprehensive overview of the OX-E (I'll borrow Jefe's acronym [emoticon] )

The narrative was effective and straight to the point; love it!

T'was great to meet the "hardy" easterners (and, westerners) who braved every element known to man (the only thing missing was a tornado).

Can't wait to see more of your photos! We're still out on the OBX --enjoying 80F clear weather (just a bit breezy, but hey, that's the OBX).

Off to the sand and sea,

Sand & Dunes

*Silverdunes didn't buy that Earth Roamer; however, she really like that Tiger Bengal (a toss-up for price/value) !
