Went through DRVs factory today. Factory was somewhat cleaner than the other ones that I went through that were trashed. Still some on the floor but workers were cleaning up as they were completing different tasks, so that impressed me.
I'm the type of person that's asks a LOT of questions...has a lot of suggestions...some of which they didn't want to hear...lol.
I hadn't seen the inside of one before today and was impressed with all the cabinets and storage in the kitchen, quality of woodwork/drawers and trim. I asked about a few things I wanted like a diesel gen, fart fan in 1/2 bath and the different suspensions that were available.

Felt kinda rushed as we walked through. He gave me a brochure after we got done...for a company that is as top end as they are would have thought their info pack would have been pretty lengthy. Not very many options listed even though many more are available.

Overall I was pretty impressed with their whole package on their LX455 toy hauler...just need to see if I can find a bank to rob...not really, so I can see if I can afford one!!

We are looking at the LX450 floor plan. Not sure if I want to sell my bunkhouse. Really like it still.

What other factories (less clean) did you tour?

XLR and Grand Design. Both also spit them out the door to achieve a daily quota. DRV does not, Weekend Warrior doesn't either.

tinner,

You mentioned that DRV had more options available that arent listed on their website/brochur. Any examples?

I'm looking at a Fullhouse but cant find a floorplan that is family friendly. Most of the dinette are on the smallish side suitable for two.

Did you also get a sense that DRV is still DRV or did you feel that since they were bought out by Thor indus things have changed a little?

I'm curious if you people that judge these factories also walk through the garage where you take your car to get serviced?

You say Weekend Warrior doesn't crank them out to fulfill a daily quota, but didn't they have huge delamination problems a few years back?

Two different companies now. The new company basically just bought the name, maybe the floor plans but Mark Warmoth is not affiliated. His new company is Extreme Warrior.

2800 watt inverter with 4 6volt batteries, Independent susp, exh fan in 2nd bath, bigger gen set or an EFI model, outlet locations and several other things that I thought of earlier when going through it. Paint color was one other one. I asked about changing full couch to the dinette and smaller couch and they said they could do that also. Overall looked like a great unit though! Several things that other companies charge extra for are included in the Full House like the patio option, which that just reminded me, the awning for the rear patio is another option they don't list but is available, disc brakes, different pinbox based on what susp you get just to name a few.

Yes I do walk through the garage where I get my car worked on and if it looked like a couple of factories that I've been in they wouldn't work on my car!
Weekend Warrior is a new company now, not the same as a few years ago as you mentioned. I would recommend checking them out for anyone wanting a HD toy hauler in their 5th wheel designs.

We've been through the DRV factory a half dozen times having owned 2 previous Mobile Suites 5th wheels.

We currently have a Weekend Warrior on order. The factory is exceptionally clean compared to various factories we've toured. Fit and finish on completed units is some of the best I've ever seen in the rv industry. Even compared to DRV.

As stated previously in this thread, the new Weekend Warrior is not connected to the old WW company in any way. They obtained the rights to the name but the company is actually The RV Factory. It is owned by the same guys from Nexus RV.
