Didn't Chad give the ole "burn it down" order more recently?
Smokey was smarter than NASCAR and they knew it. He was always ahead of them by a mile. Can you imagine a team that included Leonard Wood AND Smokey? Nobody else would have bothered to go to the track haha.

Heck, it's not cheatin, it's reading between the lines in the NASCAR rulebook. Make something obvious and they get side tracked on that obvious problem and then have a brain fart. That is why the ink is never dry in the rule book.

Never forget when "Jaws" was driving for Junior and won the Allstar race at Charlotte and all race long was walking the dog. On the backstretch after the checkered flag, old "DW" hit the clutch, over revved the motor and detonated it. I think NASCAR spent close to the same time going over Junior's cars as they went thru inspection as they did with Smokey Yunick's years before.

I was setting on the front stretch and Waltrip's engine blew as soon as he crossed the finish line. He said Junior told him the engine was only good for 70 laps, the amount of laps in the race.

John Andretti has passed at 56. Darn that's young. RIP

Very sad news to wake up to today.

John was a very good driver, and by all accounts a very nice, responsible young man. 11 years younger than me.

Always a smile, a good word to fans and for other drivers. A clean hard racer.

So sad.

When NASCAR hired Gary Nelson to supervise the Cup series, a lot of people said that 2/3 of NASCAR Cup cheating stopped.

1/3 because Nelson was the best cheater at the track, and another 1/3 because many others were copying him.

Typical ARCA Demo Derby at Daytona yesterday.

Qualifying in two hours, Busch Clash green flag in 5 hours.

A long boring winter will finally be over !!!!!

Nascar is no longer about the racing. It's all about the crash and whoever is lucky enough to be running out front at the end gets the trophy. I enjoy it less but am inexplicably compelled to continue watching.
