It can get worse. Probably early 90s I remember sitting in the stands at Richmond in a snow storm.
TXGearhead is right, change the darn schedule around. Including the Daytona 500. We've scraped ice on the windshield in Kissimmee leaving for the race. We've also gotten cardboard from the beer vendors to block the wind storm blowing up our pants legs. One year it's 80, the next year it's 40 degrees.

The weather is so unpredictable everywhere but seems worse here in the mountains and on the coast.
A few years ago at Richmonds spring race I was coming out of the stands after the day race and was about run over by a golf cart. Kyle Bush's wife was sitting up front with the driver. Kyle was spread out on the back seat. He looked white as a ghost and about dead. I assumed he was suffering from heat exhaustion as the golf cart pulled up to the medical building.
So now the spring race is at night, I imagine as the result of that extremely hot and humid afternoon.
Yes, the schedule needs a major overhaul.

IMO FAUX did a much better job of showing racing going on around the track for various positions instead of showing the lead car and lots of track noise or what the top ten NASCAR cup celebs were doing.
The race was my first this season for watching it all. Most races, Faux sports went to in car camera's/track side noise after the first dozen laps. WE used the remote mute button or watched old favorite westerns.

Good thing Jimmy went to Indycart. I am totally done with NASCAR, pulling the rug out from under Jennifer Joe Cobb was the last straw. It seems they feel the need to satisfy their TV overlords rather than concentrate on good racing, I've had enough of the silly little weenie rules they choose to or not enforce to effect the outcome of races. The fix is in, Kim Kardassion is going to be the next Champion.

If I was Jennifer I would be sitting in front of a lawyer just after that announcement.

A lawyer would just be a waste of money. 'Dega is a pretty hairy place for a first Cup start. Like it or not it's NASCAR's game, NASCAR's call. It would be cool if they changed their minds and she won.

In my experience, many years of racing THEN designing, financing, constructing, operating a racetrack,.....some of the safety rules are dictated by the insurance company. FWIW I agree with this one, afterall; Dega is home of the big one.
