Cloud: I'll take a swing at it. Bowman, like Hamlin was racing for the win. Bowman drove his car hard in the turn, hot brakes, hot/worn tires, too much speed, couldn't hold his line and got into the 11.

How'd I do? [emoticon]

Exactly. If Denny was on the inside, Bowman would have been into the wall. It was a racing incident and anyone with Denny’s racing experience knows that.
I was starting to like Denny but he is acting just like he did when he was a rookie.

I suspect that Denny was thinking that he (and other playoff drivers) should get some respect - meaning cut them some slack. There are 2 things wrong with that:

Denny was already in the final 4 when that happened. I haven't heard if Alex knew that or not, but I am sure Denny knew!

Denny has been on the giving end and should expect that folks racing him for the win are going to race him in the same manner. The fight had been on for 15 laps - and cleanly. He should not have been expecting it to last.

With Hamlin in the chase I hope it will temper his tantrums while he still has a chance for his first championship. It would be a shame if laps down for whatever reason he takes Chase out.

Congratulations to Hemric (although he wasn’t my choice) for making the X race exciting in the last lap pass.

That was a good race with the outcome in doubt most of the way. It was good to see the Champ 4 pretty much running at the front all day. Now on to speed weeks.
I do miss the old season ending hoedown where more of the drivers could stand up with their often hilarious speeches. Dale Jarrett always did the best job of that.

Seems like networks today have a different idea what tv viewers like to see/hear.
Too bad the network was stuck on showing in car vids of the 4 contenders just driving around when several cars racing each other for various top ten positions.
Overall pretty good race from the top 4 contenders.
Now if the tv networks would dump Jr...Burton...Letarte with thier irritating squeaky Billy Mims type voices and put people in the booth with good broadcasting voices, like we had in the past, I would watch the whole race and not use the mute button.

100% agree on the announcers. At times they are unbearable.

I don't know if it's the TV or the broadcast but if I want to hear engines howling over the conversation I'll go out and start the mower and talk to my wife while sitting on it. That rev 'em up thing is stupid in my opinion.

Petty takes the money and finally slows down. With 2 charters and his name it was a very good payday I'm thinking.
