A pretty good driver used to say something like: Coming in second makes you the first loser.

No RV at the moment.

I am not alone when my grandchildren come in second, third, or whatever I do NOT tell them they are 'losers' and neither do their parents. If they did their best that is what counts. I sincerely hope most parents and grandparents take the same position; otherwise we are in a heap of trouble if we consider anyone not placing first a loser! Winning is NOT everything, doing your best IS!

That's what I said earlier. You STRIVE to be the best, it's not guaranteed.

Best race of the season.
Its gonna' be interesting to see how NASCAR handle Hamlins tantrum with fines and/or points penalties.
He sure didn't like the huge booing he got. All the cheering went to Bowman when his car got away from him and pushed Denny up the track and into the wall.

Love it.

Watched none of Martinsville except the last 15 laps; it was enough.

I know little of these cars, but do understand front brakes play a HUGE role facilitating turns at Martinsville. Hamlin, and especially Bowman were going at it hammer and tong, brakes getting used up, tires getting used up, it was bound to happen. And certainly didn't happen the way Hamlin told it; just 2 guys racing hard for the win.

Here's hoping NASCAR lightens Denny's wallet and his driver points some for his toddler antics. When you antagonize the "hometown" crowd like he did, he knows his argument was pure, unadulterated
balony!

Don't forget the dust up with Logano. Coach Gibbs surely chatted with Hamlin at length after 2 little kid fits in one race. He ran Joey into the wall and the Bowman deal was certainly not intentional. The car got away from him.
You don't get free passes just because you are in the Chase. Hamlin should have grown up by now. It does make for good press, NASCAR loves it.

After the blood bath at Phoenix, I predict the champion will probably come in 4th or 5th. [emoticon]

My wife asked why nascar says the winner of the last few races of 2021 season is the winner of all 2021 season races. I actually tried to explain but I even got myself confused.
I says thats just the way men do it and that satisfied her.

"The car got away from him." Exactly what does it mean??? (I'll spare you my 60 years of serious involvement in motor vehicle racing)

Cloud: I'll take a swing at it. Bowman, like Hamlin was racing for the win. Bowman drove his car hard in the turn, hot brakes, hot/worn tires, too much speed, couldn't hold his line and got into the 11.

How'd I do? [emoticon]
