stsmark wrote: Another very real option is the Hyliion ERX, they have driving prototypes and over 200 firm orders. It’s batteries with a CNG generator.
1000 mi range, there are already 800 CNG fueling stations in US.
Some other points
Peterbuilt and Volvo are on board for the trucks all the equipment is installed on the line, Dana already makes the drive axles and Cummins is onboard for the engine and generator. Hyliion is doing the software, controls, batteries and cooling systems. They have history with all this as they have a hybrid mod for current trucks that’s been out for a few years.
The big point is that the battery pack is capable of 75 mi of range on battery alone so it qualifies for the full 40k credit same as Tesla.
They were an SPAC darling so they have 500 million in cash to finish the project.

CO2 is released during combustion, the process used to generate electricity.

The smoke guzzling is just the tip of the iceberg of lunacy in that article.

PButler96 you have to admit, it's very ironic for a guy that owns the biggest American V8 EVER produced for a pickup truck; the 8.1 (at least in modern times) to scold a bunch of RV'er on the dangers of burning fossil fuels. ![biggrin [emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/biggrin.gif) ![biggrin [emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/biggrin.gif)
And on a RV site to boot!!!
Do you really want to do this to Mother Earth 8.1? Come on man!!!

I am in no way a hater but what I want to see is what the state of charge looks like after say Fremont to Reno at 80k. Then how long at the Mega charger at Reno. Then Reno to Salt Lake at 70 mph what’s left after that? Right now I’d say a tow truck back to Reno or 4 stalls at a Supercharger.

LMAO 8.1 now there is some undisputed science!! Some real experts right there!
Come on 8.1. Get rid of your 8.1. In fact, have it crushed so no other RV'er can buy it and spew out loads of emissions. Buy a Tesla and a tent trailer or just a tent and go camping if that's what you believe will save the world. Better yet, buy a OTR Tesla Semi. You said they will be out in less than 4 months and they will be able to tow 621 miles/ charge according to Tusk.
