Agree. No crash stats or anything to support what was posted. I'd say it's barely disguised market protection.
Yep. “Level playing field” isn’t even disguised. They’re really going after the big boys with those high volumes of more than FOUR units.
Talk about crushing the little startup guy out.
It’s sad to think it’s likely only a matter of time before the stupid lemmings in this country will demand the same.
Very few kittle guys most buildrs expect a lot more than four units. DYO is less than 4

I do crash analysis for a living and RV safety isn't even a blip on the radar.
Safery issue with Chinese built Campertrailers, known to snap in two due to faulty welding or materials

The Chinese and US RV's are in the same quality category!
To me, this only reinforces what many think about quality in the US RV industry.
To make it an insult as well, Chinese have nicer finished units, but no follow up if anything goes wrong. Unfortunately US units have a lower quality all round but not the hidden dangerous conditions that tbe Chinese unis have

Very overdue legislation aimed at Chinese bult Canpertrailers that fall apart , faulty welding materials( including canvas)
Us built vehicles share with the 10% of Australian lemon builders poor quality and major problems. New laws and training schemes hel to drive them out of business

That does not surprise me. I'm always amazed at the junk/sloppy workmanship on the RV's manufacturers and dealers send to shows.

I've done crash analysis myself before and it usually entails a call to my insurance agent.

This couple got a cheapish US Caravan and a Brand new Isuzu Truck that would be cheaper than any comparable Pickup Aus $60,000 with vastly greater payload. Owner loves the turning circle of the Truck, they are taking 4 years to drive around Australia. Suspension of this basically on road Caravan has been strengthened
Still a strange site
Quote: “It’s so easy to drive the truck that we take it to the supermarket too," Brian said. “The seats are very comfortable, and we’ve even got great covers for them.
“I’ve got great vision out the front when I’m on the road because I’m seated a bit higher, which is a welcome change from driving my four-wheel drive.

So whats your take on the Great Wall utes, my Australian mate was a little evasive when I asked him about them...sort of torn between the low price and the potential for low quality I think.
