Sometimes you may want to subscribe to a thread so you can follow it without loosing it after it drops off the "Newest" threads, but you don't want to actually post anything yourself. It will save in your "My Forums" link though and then you can retrieve it easier after the 24 hours is passed. I've done this on many threads myself.

Dutchmenport,

What I am trying to do is have someone's post that I want to follow show up as an email when additional posts are made to that thread. Like I said, the "subscribe" bar hardly ever brings up the window that allows me to "subscribe".

I have been unable to duplicate the problem ??
Some setting in your computer is weird.

I think it's a popup so "maybe" you have a blocker??

Also be sure your email program's 'spam blocker' isn't diverting them from your inbox!

I think you may have nailed it. OP, even if you do not have a dedicated popup blocker, check your Firefox settings. I seem to recall one that forces popups to open in a new tab, but some popups refuse to do so, and just disappear instead.

To: Admin and all the others who have been offering suggestions.

1. A Big THANK YOU for your time and effort.
2. I am convinced that the problem is on my end.
3. I am running all my programs and apps set up with Auto Updates active.
4. This problem just started in the last four to six months. Prior to that tapping the Subscribe or Print Topic bars opened a Popup window and worked flawlessly.
5. The Reply to Topic and Post New Topic bars still work every time.
6. Pressing the Bold icon shows a Popup window for maybe a second and then it disappears so I can't use Bold text.

Continuation of the above because RV.net is forcing a captcha on me. I check the I am not a robot block and then it says "An invalid Topic ID or Forum ID was passed on." By splitting this message, I seem to be able to get by that glitch.

7. The couple of threads that I have been able to Subscribe to show up as each is updated. Additionally, I have been checking my email Spam box and "no RV.Net" emails are in it
8. I haven’t added any programs, apps, or hardware (drivers) in several years.
9. I have always and still am running:
• Adware Ad Block
• Adblock Plus
• AVG Internet Security
• AVG PC Tuneup
• Firefox Lightbeam (I have no idea what it does or if it is necessary). It’s just on my computer.
• FVD (I have no idea what it does or if it is necessary). It’s just on my computer.
• uBlock Orgin

NOTE: I CAN EDIT MY POSTS FOR WHATEVER THAT IS WORTH.

Continuation of the above:

I looked in Firefox Content Blocking > Permissions and "Block Popup Windows" was checked. I unchecked it. The vanishing popup window seems to have gone by the wayside, MAYBE. I will come back to this thread if I continue to have issues. But now why the darn Captcha junk. What is going on?????

Continuation of above:

The Bold, Italic, Underline, etc icons only give me a 2-3 second flash of the popup window and then disappears.

What is going on?

I will not continue with this thread unless I find a complete answer.

Again, Thank You for your suggestions,
LeRoy

Lightbeam is an add on that displays third party cookies set by websites. FVD is Flash Video Downloader, an add on that does what the name suggests. Ublock Origin is an ad blocker.

You have too many ad blockers at the least. They often do not play well together. Adblock Plus works just fine all by itself. Get rid of the other two. Even though they have been coexisting until now, I would not be surprised if a recent update to one of them is causing the issue.

Have you tried starting Firefox with NO add ons, and see if it works?

I am back. Sorry for the delay. I got totally blocked out of RV.net. I sort of gave up on Firefox because I though that was somehow my problem. I opened Chrome this morning and was going to make it my default web browser. I tried entering RV.net and I was back in action using Chrome.

I don’t want to change browsers if at all possible because then I have to relearn things again.

I just read Drsteve’s reply (using Chrome). I started Firefox and followed his directions of uninstalling uBlock Origin and Adware Ad Block. At the moment, I seem to be able to fully use RV.net again using Firefox and I am making this reply using Firefox. I will report back if I have any more troubles.

Again, I thank everyone for their support and suggestions.

Happy NEW YEAR to all,
LeRoy

PS: This is just testing:

Nope, Bold, Italics, Underline still don't work. I am no longer convinced that the other issues are fixed. It may be just a continuance of the intermittent once-in-awhile that it works. I am frustrated.
