Cummins12V98,

You actually answered a question I was just asked last night. The price diff between a DRW and SRW. Having never looked at it myself as I never had to before, I absolutely had no clue. Knew the diff between a 250/350 was pretty much peanuts, but I was thinking it would be much more between a DRW/SRW. Thanks. Now I can pass onto a co-worker who asked me.

AC

Well for Ram the difference was $1,295 in 2018.

In Canada Ram charges $1200 CAD ($900 USD) for duals.

Ford USA wants $2000 USD for duals

Ford Canada wants $1150 CAD additional for duals now. Back in 2011 a Ford King Ranch dually was $200 less than a SRW 3500. I guess the fiberglass fender wells along with 6 smaller tires and steel rims were cheaper than 4 20 inch aluminum wheels.

That is one of the features I like about Ram design also is that it is an entirely different side panel on the truck bed, mot a stick-on fender-well to accommodate the DRW.

One feature I like better about the SRW is that they don't have that sexy set of hips.... but if the time ever comes that I have to have them I think I prefer the Ram sides also.

While the new Ram duallies look sweet, I was always a fan of the 1st gen and then 3rd gen Mega cab add on fenders.
Aside from looking cool, IMO, I've seen enough bedsides tore up (not mine, never owned a dually) to see the practicality of an add on fender that is cheaper and more easily replaceable.

Regarding the height of rhafgo's trucks, yeah Dodge was king of the tall burly lookin trucks back in the 2nd Gen days. Pretty cool......

Well it seems you have a fear of wide hips, now both DD and DW drive hippy trucks.

This is DD 2004 Ram she uses to tow her 4 horse slant with living quarters GN trailer Both below.

This is the horse trailer hooked to my 2001

Then there is our new TV! I know DD will want to test drive it.

Hips are only a size issue if you make one, 95% of it is in your mind, I have shown in this post there isn't much size difference between a 17 year old Ram 2500 and a 2016 Ram 3500 DRW.

Well congrats! What a nice truck, looks like it will serve you well!

Pressed the size thing yesterday when we went through the drive up ATM at Oregon State Credit Union in Newport. It is a U shaped drive through to tight 90’s and ATM on building. One slight adjustment in each turn, but no othe issues.
