The wife and I are currently considering getting back into the RV life. Kids are grown so until grandkids get here it's just us. We really like the rear living room model TT. Preferably with the two recliners as opposed to dual couches. At the RV show we attended we fell in love with a Springdale 266RL. Yesterday we went dealer shopping and found a Coleman Light LX 2605RL. We both liked the Coleman better. More storage, lighter weight(although not much), and fiberglass exterior. Cosmetically we both liked the Coleman interior better. From what I see the warranty is pretty close between the two also.

The Coleman is also about $1,000 cheaper initially.

If you have any experience with either product I would appreciate your input. Also if you have suggestions for different brands with same floor plan in the same price bracket and weight class. Looking for low 20K and 1/2 ton towable.

Both are entry level units, Look at the cabinetry and finish on each.
Particle board with a shelf paper type coating will go downhill the quickest, plywood is better, and hardwood frames are better still.
Fastening, staples will pull out easily, nails a little better, and screws are better still. Countertops also vary in similar fashion.

Knowing the dealers you visited if at the Richmond/Ashland show, you should check on "out the door" pricing. Some will add on thousands in fees even on an inexpensive trailer. Examples would be,,,
Delivery $750 - $1500
Dealer prep $450 - $750
PDI or walkthrough of $350
Processing fee of $399

There are dealers that price their units straight up, no fees.
Its possible the show pricing you are being offered is a great deal, but its also possible that you may be getting a lousy deal.

Use the web, search for the exact models that interest you from other dealers, the ones that price their product "out the door" usually say so on their webpages, get some comparasion prices and go from there.
www.rvtrader.com
and
www.rvt.com
both have advanced search functions that will let you check those models.

Good luck.

Agreed on everything you wrote. Visited the show Saturday and the dealership Sunday. Yeah the fees were ridiculous. Honestly I'd prefer to not purchase from the dealer I visited but if I go Coleman I don't have a choice. From what I learned today the Coleman line is only available through a Camping world dealership.

Formerly owned an Autumn Ridge and liked it really. It is entry level but we did not need high end full timing luxury. I never had a warranty issue with the unit. Camping World has exclusive rights to sell Coleman. Colman is made by Thor industries like many others are.

My Springdale has been fine. Has been a very good value. Not perfect but not big issues that made me want to trade. Has been water tight and that is most important to me.

The Coleman is priced about $1,000 cheaper than the Springdale of the same floor plan. By “initially” I was referring to the price of the unit only. Not including all the dealers fees and **** they tack on.
