Just wondering if anyone has gone on one of these tours ( there are a few different ones to choose) and which you chose and if you liked it. I see there is one that is almost 9 hours long. ( too long for us) we were thinking about the "west alpine tour" which is only 4 hours

We did a Red Bus tour a few years ago, cannot remember which specific tour route. I think any of them are worth the views you see. Just pick the one that appals and I think you will be happy. Enjoy!

Yes do the tour. The cars have fold down roofs so you can see straight up. The tour guide gives out so much information.
our tour was about 9 hrs. It included a stop for lunch.
You can see so much more on a tour. you do not have to worry about the other drivers. We did the going to the sun road.

We did a 4 hour tour on the west side and really enjoyed it. The price is worth not having to drive or deal with all the traffic.

Depending on the time of year as I remember the Red buses were open so cold in the fall and hot in the summer. We took the native american tour in closed buses with A/C. Can't remember the name but they picked us up at St. Mary's CG on the east side.

Yes to the Red Bus! The drivers are EXCELLENT guides that give out much info about Glacier and everything you see.
If it's cold they will provide heavy wool blankets and, if rainy, they do close the top. Very unusual to be extremely warm in Glacier and at those altitudes.
Going to the Sun road is a beautiful drive but it's a lot nicer to not have to do the driving.

We did an evening tour a couple of years ago. The sunset was fantastic and because it being that time of day the traffic was minimal. Oh, we left from Apgar Village.

I drove the going to the sun road the first time in Glacier. The second time I took the tour from the west side it was about 4 hours. I would recommend the tour.
