Camped Timbrline RV, Waukee a couple of years ago ~~ Filled propane on site. Didnot realize it was so hard to find.

none of the propane dealers around here are willing to fill a built in tank.

why??

Possibly the OP's local propane dealers think the built in tank is to power the RV engine and they are not equipped to collect the necessary tax?
I've encountered that a few years,ago.

You must have some strange RV dealers. I've never heard of one not wanting to sell their own product.

In my area Tractor Supply has the best price so I take the motor home there and back it into the gate. No problems.

Maybe these places have employees who are not properly trained?

Then I'd probably show them the gas tank.

Along with what was stated above Southern States farm stores are a good possibility as well as forklift dealers and any propane distributor can from their facility.

AmeriGas will fill RV tanks, but I found some places where there's no one who can do it at the location all day. I've had to catch a driver at the end of a day.

AllStays app is useful finding propane on the road. Just don't use their GPS.

Since OP isn't answering, is it possible they only fill by weight?
