Recommendations, opinions, comments, whatever. Anyone's 2c welcome.

DW hip surgery greatly limits how far and fast she gets around ("not very" on both counts). She wants to experience Quartzsite 2020 but doesn't want to participate in any hiking treks to get to anything.

What "specifically" does she want to experience?

Best bet would be to get a mobility scooter for her to get around the various venues. The big tent and the several flea market sites are rather large and require lots of walking. Most scooters can be broken down in to 5-6 easy to manage pieces for transport in a trunk or storage compartment. They take less than 15 minutes to disassemble/assemble.

It will save her hip...

Should we assume this is advanced planning for next year? Plan on dropping her off but you might get lucky with a parking spot. Not sure what "not very" means but it's a mini hike around in the big tent and some other areas.

Some parks seem a little better but each of us has different views and we're not there for the normal limited park facilities. We've spent a number of 1 nighters at 88 Shades for our summer travels. And they have a pressure washer and oil change station (both free) if you like.

I can certainly recommend Smiley Als pizza and beer. [emoticon]

X2 We've recently bought one to expand our travels. We transport it with the car which gives us flexibility for where we go. And we have 3 ways to carry it with the car.

As Chum Lee asks, just what is it she expects to ' experience'? The real Quartzsite experience is boon-docking in the desert. Fill your water and propane tanks and Drive about 6 miles south of Quartzsite to the RoadRunner BLM area where you can camp in the desert for up to two weeks for free. Pick out a nice secluded spot and just enjoy the desert.

We were able to park about 100' from the main tent entrance. There were a lot of scooters inside the tent. Agree, camping in the desert is special.

We have used Randy's Mobility Rentals the last few years while in "Q". They are not cheep but it is convenient and saves our backs. At the traffic signal on 95 S/O the interstate, make a right and then another right they are about 150' up that street. You can see them from 95.

Their phone number is 407-492-2321, email is randysmobilityrentals@gmail.com.

Our first time to "Q" the DW used her wheelchair and I pushed, it was the hardest workout I've ever gotten. Now my back is worse and I can't push or stand for long period of time so we rent.
