Wanted to leave my 5th wheel and TV in their lot at Fleming Island,Fl, just south of Jacksonville. I had shopping to get supplies,on my way South. Was leaving next morning. Was told, NO, it would be towed if supervisor for outside, Amanda, saw it when she came to work. Winn Dixie next door was more accommodating and they got my business. Walmart has the last of my money.

Why not park overnight at a local campground? Then you don't have to listen to exhaust mod and car stereo demonstrations well into the wee hours.

Retail establishments build a parking lot for patrons to use WHILE shopping in their store. They do not build parking lots for people to use for long term parking or storage.

You, sir, are completely out of line expecting any store to accommodate you with any parking beyond the time you are actually in that store to make purchases.

It is attitudes such as yours that may be a component in Walmarts nationwide to increasingly forbid over night parking.

+1 on that. Just plain rude.

We shop at the Fleming Island Walmart, US 17 and county road 220. There are campers and semi’s parked over night regularly on the lot.

Some Walmarts welcome RV parking. Some don’t. Some Walmarts have large easy access parking lots with plenty of RV room. Some would have traffic flow issues if more than 2 or 3 RVs showed up at the same time. There are 4 Walmarts within about 10 mile radius of where I live. One has a large easy access parking lot to handle several RVs. Another also has a large parking lot but stays so busy that RVs would cause problems in the parking lot. And two have parking lots that are not only busy but not deigned for easily getting large RVs in, around, back out.

Assuming the city allows it, it is a manager decision, not a corporate one. Don’t worry. You will not be missed.

The ability to overnight in a parking is a COURTESY. It's not part of the company's business. You asked - they said no. Get over it.

The original post is kind of ambiguous as it sounds like you wanted to drop off your RV while you did shopping elsewhere. If you just planned to overnight and stay with the RV that is different. But it really is at the discretion of the manager or whoever has authority at the store. If they say "No" then you shrug and move on. Nothing really to get upset over. They are a retail store, not a campground.

OTOH, to me there is a difference between parking overnight, and dropping off your RV and leaving it to go get supplies from somewhere other than Wally World.

Theres a diference between daytime parking and nightime.

No one is shoping at night,so there is plenty of space to park.
