Yes, you can use the truck lanes at Flying J and Pilot if you don't mind getting hosed about 20 to 30 cents more per gallon.

Why truck stops? Local FJ $3.05 Murphy's gas station $2.42. Fuel after your camped or take the 5W, few stations you can't get in. I take it one step further, 80 gallon aux tank + 40 in the truck, 1000+ range, I choose where & when by price.
Using the current price if I take on 80 gallons I save $50.40

I cringe thinking back to the days before an aux tank in my bed. I haven't been to the pumps with my trailer in several years.

You don't mention the year of your F350 both my 09 and my 17 accept the larger nozzle. Don't know about years earlier than 09.

My 'vintage' 97 F350 diesel fits the truck nozzle. It's a tight fit but it fits.

I always use the truck lanes 'cause I'm a truck...lol

I too have a 100 gallon in bed auxillary tank.

I have a 2002 Ford which accepts the larger diameter nozzle. I prefer fueling in the truck lanes. There is plenty of room. The windshield washer has a long handle. The tank fills faster, just control it manually when you get near the end of your tank.

I prefer truck stops when traveling cross country. I'll pay a little extra, if it is, for the convenience of not having to deal with people that don't know how to drive, park or not park at the diesel pumps while shopping in the store and then figuring out they parked with their car the wrong direction once they are back.

Use the Flying J. Pull up, give them your CC with the amount, pump, pull forward, go back inside for card.

It took me decades to learn, but the last 10 years or so I worked I kept a small bottle of baby powder in with my fueling gloves. Any fuel on clothes, shake a little powder on it, and brush it off. That keeps the oil and smell out of vehicle. Floor or any powder would work, but the baby powder comes in a easy to use bottle...

Like Ess505 I decided to go with a Aux tank. Mine gravity drains into the main tank. I have the ATI Tank Aux46. So I have 77 gallons total. I’m good easily for 700 miles and I’ve went 600 between campgrounds. When I get setup at the campground, I find the cheapest diesel and fill her back up.

It gives me around 1400 miles between fill ups not towing. The tank only weighs 56 pounds. So it’s around 370 lbs fully loaded but I’ve never put more than 40 gallons and normally I run 30.

Best thing I’ve ever bought for the truck.

Many years ago when I had a 2000 F250 7.3, we stopped in New Jersey off of 287 to fill up. The station had the large nozzle which didn't fit our truck. The attendant (New Jersey still has the "full serve only" rule...) took the nozzle and just carefully put it against the smaller opening and filled my truck. It can be done, but I am pretty sure it was a "standard" fill pump and not a high-speed pump.
