We live between NY and Boston, a very crowded place. With a big antenna with a booster we get 6 or 8 stations depending on the weather. We live near the top of a hill but the closest station is about 40 miles away. Our DSL has to be rebooted about twice a week because the wires on the street are too old. They won't fix the wife because every thing is going cell service. We have one bar of AT T if I stand by the window in the living room, nothing with other carriers. Cable says not enough people to ever have cable. I am not the only one, Dish will be around for a long time.

Here's a four-letter word for all of you having trouble with DirecTV: DISH.

Not that they're perfect but they certainly seem better than DTV.

And I expect the company to be around much longer than Timmac anticipates.

And for all the of you having trouble with DISH the answer is DirecTV! The dissatisfaction rate of both services is about 50%.

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I'm going to talk to my xfinity internet provider today about their TV service. I know.. ugh. But this is for the house.

I'm going to splurge on a huge QLED 4k TV, and need info on what stations actually support that. I know there's also 8k but afaik no supporting broadcasts.

Just hold on Space X will soon have its 600 satellites up and you will have all the internet you will need anywhere on the road and at home..

Late 2020 Space X internet should be online and satellite dish TV service will be part of the past like many brick and mortar stores..

"Soon" is relative and the equipment you will need to receive the signal remains in question. When I see descriptions like Late 2020, I know that really means "an unknown date in the future" and possibly never. Iridium made great promises and delivered almost nothing. This is not really that different.

No, that does not work now. Something has changed.

Now about continuous inverter 120V for the receiver. Will the HR44 still allow viewing recorded shows after the RV is down with the dish down? ie It's detected no sat but recordings OK. Or recordings with a overlayed error?
I lowered my antenna without rebooting or powering down HR44. I was able to access my recordings by hitting list as normal. I did not test it beyond that.

I'll try mine soon and see what happens. I got a 'storage device' error yesterday, so I hope my DVR isn't dying, because then I have to deal with DTV and I never enjoy that.
